Cotton: "Sabres will attempt to be the first New York team in hockey history to win back-to-back home-and-home games vs. a Pennsylvania opponent after scoring 9 goals in the state of Ohio on a Wednesday two weeks before the winter solstice."
Pepper: "I'm surprised it's never been done before, Cotton. But if there's one team who can do it, it's the Sabres. I'm feeling Erie just thinking about it."

Blue Jackets played Pittsburgh on Tuesday night. Their next game was against Buffalo.

Feeling good about getting a split and we're riding high right now.

6 - 3 for the good guys. TNT comes back to earth and is limited to 3 points tonight.

The Pens PK vs the Sabres PP seems like one major subplot tonight. Both are near the top of their respective categories and the Pens haven’t allowed a power play goal against in something like 8 of 9 or 9 of 10?

Pittsburgh this season goes through large stretches of games looking totally indifferent. Usually they do get around to ramping it up, but if you can get 'em well behind the 8-ball they may not be able to overcome it, or maybe they tune out (except Crosby). They do tend to start slow, and Buffalo lately has been much the opposite. If the Sabres can jump out quick, 2 or 3 goal lead, then the Pittsburgh slow simmer might not avail them.

I would be worried if the Pens get out early that they are veteran enough to choke off the rush chances for Buffalo. Think of the Tampa games…

Sid has been on another level recently. Let's see how Tage matches up.

It's amazing that we have a guy that strikes terror into opposing GDTs. When was the last time people dreaded playing someone wearing the blue and gold?
