Good luck to the brave soldiers and warriors going to this game. May peace be brought to you and your family while dealing with a metric shitton of Swifties.

Miller & Demko potentially back this game?

My hunch is that if one or both of them is nearing a return, they will want to get a few practices in with the team before doing so. The team didn't get to practice much on the road, and probably got back in today. Demko was rumored to play near the end of the trip or the beginning of the homestand, so my guess would be Sunday or Tuesday at the earliest for him.

No idea when Miller may be ready to return, but I think he'd need a few practices as well.

Hella goalie controversy when Demko does come back cuz doubt he can match Lankinens stats and play so far this year. Esp not playing for over half a year

I think and hope it will actually end up being a benefit, allowing Demko to ease back into duty with a fully capable 1A/1B type splitting duties with him, and therefore reducing his workload a bit.

I'm happy for Miller to get more rest and recovery for whatever it is. Long homestand here and the team is gelling and doing well without him. No need to rush anything, sort of like Demko.

Demko at home to steal every victory and Lankinen on the road because the guy is a beast on the road.

Miller being back would be huge for Garland and Joshua in particular. They've been getting 2nd line matchups at ES, and Miller's return pushing them down should result in the return of their ES dominance from last year.

The bottom 6 was very much in bend, don't break mode over the road trip, and putting them back into 4th line minutes & matchups would bode well for them.

Petey has also gotten used to playing first line matchups again, which should soften Miller's load a bit as well. Expecting to see something like this upon his return:

Debrusk-Petey-Sherwood
Suter-Miller-Boeser
Joshua-Blueger-Garland
Heinen-Raty-Hoglander

Tocchet does things in pairs, so really I'm expecting Debrusk/Petey, Miller/Boeser, Garland/Joshua to be the glue and a bunch of Xs moving up and down throughout the year based on performance. Wouldn't be surprised if Garland is put on the top line & split from Joshua as well as we wait for his game to recover post-cancer.

Did the NHL forget that Taylor Swift is doing 3 concerts this weekend?
i mean how much overlap is there between the fanbases? NHL mostly fears the NFL and of course baseball(probably why they start the season in october instead of september)

There are lots of options. You could even try this:

DeBrusk - Pettersson - Boeser
Joshua - Miller - Garland
Heinen - Blueger - Sherwood
Raty - Suter - Hoglander

I'd be very intrigued by a Joshua - Blueger - Sherwood 3rd line as well, with Garland moving up.

Demko coming back doesn't create any controversy to me. You can split starts. Toronto has a great duo of Woll and Stolarz. With both goalies performing as the lead tandem guy.

Do we still benefit from cap accrual given the Hronek and Miller situations?

This seems like it may be an actual assignment. If so, I do wonder if maybe it's making room for Miller, or if there's another Abbotsford forward they want to get a look at? Nils Aman has been good since he went down there, and Klimovich has been putting up some goals.
