I was disappointed with what I saw from Pettersson in OT.

He didn’t look scary at all. In fact, it was his line that almost gave up the Thompson goal.

He looks to have snapped out of his (very long) slump, but he’s not even close to being the dangerous offensive force that he’s capable of.
He has no speed right now, i think it's clear his knee is still bothering him

Hughes is one of the greatest hockey players in the world. Probably the best Canuck ever. Amazing OT

Can the Canucks possibly get by with this defense?. Not at all sure Desharnais is playable. One of the most clumsy players in Canuck history

Boeser coming back off the hit doing well while Joshua appears to be hitting the wall. Give him some time.

Right now, Garland is our second best player. Great contract for what he contributes. Leader in so many ways.

Suter is playing very. Leave him at center. Much better player than he is given credit for being

Pettersson continues to bobble the puck too much. If he could just smooth out his game.

deBrusk doing what he was brought in to do. Steadily improving

Hoglander doesn't look NHL caliber. Zero happpening here. When will he ever score again?

Lankinen made some incredible saves. Guy has been gold.

Team nearly caved but got it o OT and then Hughes went turbo charged. Nice win.

Other than the last 10 minutes that was a solid road game with a depleted squad. PK was outstanding.

Garland outstanding tonight. That shot block assist was awesome. Now 20 points in 21 games. He's the one player this year who has really hit another level from last season.

Hughes was outstanding without Hronek and a rotation of partners. His OT was just comically good.

Lankinen continues to be rock solid.

Thought Desharnais had one of his better games tonight. Conversely, rough game for Brannstrom, maybe his worst so far.

Juulsen was a mess but somehow didn't get burned.

Hoglander was put with Boeser as a showcase. Ended up playing 6 minutes and getting benched. More poor defensive play. I don't know where you go from here.

2 assists for Boeser - didn't think he looked great, but found a way to make a contribution and this game will probably be a confidence builder coming back from a concussion.

Pius Suter on pace for 30 goals.

Max Sasson point streak over. Thought he was solid again though.

I'm a fan of Tocchet but I think he's gotta nerf his coaching style a bit to better suit this team at the moment.

Feels like he's not meshing 100% right now with the guys and has gotta try and get some more offense out of the boys.

Totally disagree

That was a coaching win. Team has a lot of holes and is playing a very disciplined defensive game

Another solid road effort. Given the Canucks have 20 million+ out of their lineup right now, it's how they're going to have to play until the reinforcements start to arrive.

Garland - Outstanding game, bets forward on the night. Has decided to take backdoor plays literally and turn into a literal door on them, which has been hilarious to see.

Hughes - Best dman in the league. I've only seen Bobby Orr highlight videos, but what he does with the puck on his stick is exactly what an Orr highlight video looks like. Pure joy to be able to watch him night in, night out.

Rest of the defense - Held in there, which is all you can really say. Soucy and Myers are not up to the level they were last year.

Regardless of systems things, until they get an upgrade, its going to continue looking like we're icing a big, slow, early 2000s style of defense behind Hughes.

Petey - Just ok. Did some good things, but you'd like to see him fire the puck a little more. He has the best shot on the team, and I have no idea why he's so afraid to wire it home.

At least he's been more engaged defensively, and has stepped up as a playmaker, but if he could just rip it a little more often it would open up so much more of the ice for everyone else.

Lankinen - Beauty out there tonight. Got unlucky on the third goal. Best value signing of the offseason.

Bottom 6 - Got caved in pretty hard tonight, not many standout performances. Were good on the PK at least. Hoglander continues to suck.

No doubt in my mind. Quinn Hughes is the best player to ever lace them up for the Canucks....and just tuned 25....Unreal!

I miss the actual Sportsnet Pacific

The product we get from our NHL team's home cable provider is just atrocious. It must be the worst in the NHL. And everyone just seems numb to it and accepts it, I guess because it's been killed by a thousand cuts over the past 10 or 15 years.

No pregame. No postgame. An Oiler who hates us as the main intermission analyst for most games.

Ads placed over top of the play today.

Sportsnet is truly garbage now - bring back Sportspage and more local content.

And the feed quality's noticeably worse than ever before.

100%

That was our 3rd road game in 3.5 days and we held our structure and work rate despite falling behind in the 1st period and came back and got a result.

The blip in the last 10 minutes notwithstanding, that was a well coached team getting a result they probably shouldn't have, given who was available tonight.

Before: "Couldn't trade Garland if you tried! He's a cap dump!"

Now: "Teams couldn't trade for Garland if they tried! He's on a great contract!"
The former was always dumb. It’s not like he’s a one trick point likeSprong, he’s one of our best cycle players and puck battle winners on top of being a proven 5v5 producer.

Yeah, it feels like when the team is struggling he wants the answer to be hunker down and focus even more on defence and fundamentals. Sometimes I feel like the players just need a few games to relax away from the tight systems play without fearing it'll lead to a benching.
