Nah this is a continuation from his Abbotsford days. He would have complete meltdowns and his AHL stats were medicore.

Sucks to say that he may not be a legitimate NHL capable goaltender.
We have no idea, problem is Silovs stunk in the first few games and then the team has stunk in games since. Really hard to evaluate him in these games when the team is so porous.

He has the tools so there's always hope that his game reads and technique will catch up.

If you ignore the playoffs this is a guy in his third NHL season who has never played more than 5 games in a regular season. I said in the playoffs that it might have been an illusion because he's historically done well in short tournament situations and all teams play tighter defence in the playoffs. That insulated him a lot. Not that he didn't show flashes of brilliance but the regular season as a starter is more of a question of consistency and discipline. In the playoffs a guy just has to get on a heater and anyone at the NHL level can do that.

Anyways to me he's basically still a raw rookie. Team should be ashamed, usually guys play a bit of a tighter game when they know the backup/rook is in net. They've basically sucked in front of him at least 2 games in the last four that I remember.

Technically I think he's improving a bit when I just watch what he's doing before shots are taken. Holding his feet better, not always going down in post integration, much better at fighting through screens and puck tracking through traffic although he still looks like he doesn't entirely know where it's going and is bobbling a lot more on those long point shots that teams have scouted as one of his weak points. But at least he's saving it now compared to the first couple of games in the season. In other words, he is working on things and I think they are improving albeit slowly. Development guys, development.

I hate how players stand there and wave their sticks and let the man blow by them. Lazy play by Heinen there near the boards to allow the odd man rush..

This team likes to no show. It's a really alarming pattern.
It's a pattern across three coaches now. This is partly why I wanted to move on from Myers. Obviously the core is here and JTM and EP have had their petulant periods. BUt they're too good to get rid of. Demko and Hughes have been consistently great.

IMO they should have gotten rid of Myers if only to move on from those past loser team cultures, And to be honest he's never been held accountable for his poor play which to me eventually kills team morale even if the guy as a person is popular in the locker room.
