NEWS/NOTES​
  • This is the first official meeting between the Vegas Golden Knights and the Los Angeles Kings! The two teams met in the preseason as the Kings got the upper hand winning in overtime 3-2 with Brooks Laich scoring the game winning goal
  • The Knights have surprised everyone in the NHL with their impressive 11-6-1 record second only t0 the LA Kings.
  • There are a lot of stories surrounding the Knights with the biggest story would be their goalie situation. Vegas started the year with Fleury and Malcom Subban, but both got injured early and had to rely on Oscar Dansk and Maxime Legace. And then Dansk got hurt and had to use an emergency recall on one of their junior players Dylan Ferguson. With Subban returning to the lineup, Ferguson gets sent back down to his junior team. Right now it uncertain who will start in goal tonight between Subban and Legace.
  • Another story with the Knights was regarding one of their offseason acquisitions Vladimir Shipachyov. Many expected Shipachyov to be their #1 center, but things didn't work out the way everyone thought it would as Shipachyov was sent down to their AHL affiliate multiple times and barely getting any game time with the Knights. The Knights eventually terminated the contract and Shipachyov returns to the KHL, although the Knights seem to be doing just fine without him.
  • The LA Kings ended a 4 game losing streak last night against the Florida Panthers by a score of 4-0. Darcy Kuemper had a stellar 1st period which kept the Kings in the game early on with some great saves around the net. He finished the night with a 24 save shutout.
  • Goals would come from Toffoli, Brodzinski, Andreoff and Lewis. Brodzinski scoring his first career NHL goal on a wicked backhand shot from the slot.

If someone had suggested last year that our top line would be decent with kopitar flanked by brown and eeiieeiioo, we would have thought that they had raided stolls party stash. Weird eh. Top that off with lewis and kempe on the 2nd line. Loco

The Kings better be ready to play tonight. Get the feeling this is a big game for Vegas, and they will be coming hard to win their first game at home against LA.

I am finding it hard to believe hes top pairing with all do respect to the op. However where ever he is playing we need to be aware of and avoid his hip check that could hurt someone. You know hes waiting to payback someone on the kings and it won't be andreoff as he lived with and still talks to a lot according to rosens quotes today

He was mostly injured the last year + here. And he played first pair here one year with Drew, his trophy year.

His weakness is actually thinking. Force him to make decisions quickly and you'll have your way with him.
 
Oh Quick, can you f***ing make a save in the first few shots. Awful.
