Kings don't seem to have the forward depth to compensate for Carter's absence. Kempe got hot for a few games, but no one else stepped up after he cooled off. The lack of production from Pearson has been very disappointing.

It's a little early for the Christmas nap.

Was about to say the Kempe boost has all but disappeared. That line is playing well for the most part, Pearson just seems snakebitten. But whatever game Kopitar's point streak ends is a likely loss for us unless someone else can step back up.

I feel like Pearson and Iafallo are the next hot streaks.

pearson and toffoli had about 50 grade As between them the last 2 games but got stoned by nilsson and jones

i don't see any reason to complain about their game personally

To be blunt they get paid to produce, not just get chances. I'm not saying they need to score every shot, but they have to bury a few with all the good looks they are getting.

TT 1 goal in 6 games
Pearson 1 goal in 7 games, only 3 all year.

With how dismal the bottom 6 is and the offensive scheme giving up more scoring chances, the kings just aren't going to win many games if these guys aren't producing.

Top 2 LW's have combined for 4 goals on 96 shots in 19 games. That's a shooting percentage of 4%. Worse than anything Brown did in the last 4 years.

Speaking of Brown, as much of a resurgence as he's had, and you don't want to diminish that, he's got 1 ES goal since Oct 11, and it was into an empty net. And one of Pearson's goals was into an EN as well, so the top 2 LW's have 3 goals in 19 games with a goalie in the net. So, 3% for those two.

It's almost like the month of insane play was not the norm v. the last two years of trash.

This team will scrape for a wild card spot as originally predicted. That start will go a long way towards it. Gaborik will be key since Carter is out for too long, much like Quick last year.

Be real though, this is much more the expected result. Come at me if you want, but look at this roster for ****s sake

The team will be streaky, as systems that are more supportive of offensive creativity and fluidity are more effective when the team plays with confidence.

Systemic play, such as under Sutter, are more tempered for consistent play (for better or worse).

I'm just worried at Stevens riding players into the ground.

Still though, isn't it amazing that almost a quarter of the way through the season, he's tied with Patrick Kane in points? ;)

With more goals. More goals than Crosby or Malkin too. More than Simmonds. More than Hall. Nobody could've realistically hoped for a better to start to the season for Brown, but 0 goals at ES with a goalie in the net in the last 16 games while averaging the 3rd most ES time for forwards on the team isn't great. That Iafallo has 1 ES goal while averaging the 2nd most ES ice time for forwards isn't helping either. Kopitar has 2 ES goals in the last 12 games. Amazing that Kopitar has 12 points in the last 12 games. 7 of those points on the PP, which makes sense, since the 1st line has 4 ES goals(or 3, depending on how pessimistic you want to be) in the last month or so.

I still think they're adjusting to the new system. For the last 7 years it's been all defense and creativity wasn't really encouraged. Now the creativity, especially getting shots from the middle, is being more of a priority and the defense is taking a hit. They have yet to find the middle ground which will eventually come. The Shore turnover was a clear example. In the past, players would just get the puck, then hammer it off the boards and its out. Tonight he was looking to pass it to Lewis for a scoring chance on the pk, turns it over and it cost them the game .

Looking for a scoring opportunity should never be your priority on the PK. I don't care what system you're running.

I just do not get her coaches man crush on AA. He seems to trust rookies all over the lineup to score goals, center bottom lines, and pair up on defense.

Then he skates AA out there every game. We have a rookie on defence that is tougher, more aggressive and smarter than AA but he does not seem to believe that this guy can stick up for his teammates.

He keeps throwing the same pylon out there that hasn't scored in the year, has no offensive creativity at all, and is a major liability.

I know this is not our teams only problem and not the only reason we are losing but we are starved for offense right now. Time to switch things up and put some skill in the bottom pairing. I would rather see him skate seven defensemen and double shift some of her forwards through the lineup which would also help drop Drews ice time. It does not have to be every game but just switch things up once in a while

I don't think the Kings are still adjusting to their new system. Other teams have adjusted to the system the Kings are now playing. When the Kings were at their best under Sutter, what is happening to the Kings the last three games, is exactly what Kings teams under Sutter did to the opposition.

Stevens is going to run Kopitar and Doughty into the ground if he keeps playing them the kind of minutes he has in recent games.

It's almost like they're the same team.

I don't think any of us should be surprised that we're witnessing a very average hockey club right before our eyes. Clearly their start was unsustainable, but we also haven't seen what they could do with a 100% healthy roster.

Zig this team is been average for a few seasons.People were to busy making excuses and attacking anyone who were pointing it out for the last few seasons.

That is very true. This team has relied on one productive line to carry the weight of the offense. We've seen what a huge impact it is when they get balanced scoring, but it is always inconsistent. Hence the performances and results that we've seen since the last Cup run.
