Team's still not connected well enough, but that was a game the goalie lost. Should have been enough to win

Lankinen was not good today.
Joshua needs a few months of grace to get his conditioning back, but happy he's been able to get healthy to play in this game.
Blueger not good again.
Hoglander really stupid.

Heinen was by far our best FWD today.
Garland, EP decent too.

Hughes & Hronek played that entire game in the Nashville end.

Whatever good will Myers earned last season, he seems intent on flushing down the toilet this year. I can't think of a player with a 1000 games who's played more inconsistently than Myers. One good year out of six. Half a year average and then the rest basically bottom pairing at best. What a hero.

Clearest signal yet something isn't right with Miller.....probably an injury he's been struggling with all year. Normally he'd have played every second shift down the stretch.

Another disappointing home game. About the only positives are that Raty (21) and Lekkerimaki (20) are getting tons of ice time. Lekerimaki even out there with less than two minutes remaining with the team down a goal. This is invaluable experience for these guys.

Throw D-Petey in for the next game to see what he can do. Looks like the Canucks finally have some promising young players in their lineup.

Instead of starting the Hodlander line 2 minutes left that got stuck in their own zone. Maybe call a time out and get the big guns out there . I mean It's what I would have done in EA NHL .
Tocchet’s reluctance to use timeouts is strange. If he regularly used them strategically at the end of games I would get not using them earlier unless necessary. But he doesn’t. So why not use them earlier after an icing when you’ve got guys sucking wind because they’ve been out 1.5-2 minutes already?

I think he's saving to be used all in one game.

Miller/Hughes is rocking, Pettersson sucks.
Miller is hurt, Pettersson is back to his former self.
Miller hurt, Boeser hurt, Demko hurt

Why can't we have all our stars healthy and firing on all cylinders for once?

Canucks came up short. Probably deserved better from that great 3rd period. Soucy/Myers continue to be a disaster while this year's Canucks roster looks like it has some glaring holes.

I thought preds got away with murder in this one. Take the loss and move on.

Hopefully Miller is okay

Can't use timeouts after an icing anymore as the team that ices it

Last year, Demko played 51 games, won 35, with a 2.45 GAA, and a .918 SV%.

Not throwing stones at Lank & Silovs, but we're not running with our best. Where would the Jets be without Helly?

Won't lose my shit until Demko and Brockstar are back. And yes, we need help on D, as do most teams in the NHL.

Think we used up our quota in the first half of last year. Onward mediocrity for another 50 years!

Feels like every game recap I do is starting to sound the same, and not in a good way. The schedule has been superbly soft, and if they keep playing like this once the competition gets better they're going to be a bubble playoff team. The Miller/Boeser injuries are killing them up front (losing your first line tends to do that), and the Soucy/Myers pair is giving the other team an additional first line each night.

Petterson - He's come alive and is bringing it, and alongside Hughes is the reason for hope. When you have a franchise center and dman, you can usually turn things around if you make the right depth decisions.

Sherwood - Probably could've had a hat-trick tonight with all the chances. Thought his breakaway flub turned the momentum the other way, but kudos to him for continuing to work hard all game.

Heinen - Continues to do all the little things right and is getting rewarded on the scoreboard for it.

Garland line - Not great. Chemistry from last year isn't quite there, and it's tough with Joshua being so rusty. Them not producing while the first line is effectively out is going to make it hard to win while the defense is playing like this.

Raty - Nice to see him get rewarded with a goal, his game has been coming around. Hoglander had some nice possession time, but he really needs to cut out the 1-2 stupid things he does a game - it's like watching the forward version of Juulsen.

Soucy/Myers - When you're so bad that you force the team to break up it's biggest strength because the coaches can no longer trust you on the ice, it's bad. They're playing at a below replacement level right now. If the team wants to be taken seriously, this situation needs to get resolved, or the team is going to remain inconsistent.

Brannstrom - Solid game. Size remains an issue on the defensive end, but the fact he's been the team's third best dman after being on waivers is a bad look for what management did with the blueline during the offseason. Juulsen looked ok for once too.

Hughes - Uncharacteristically bobbled the puck a lot tonight and made some weird decisions with the puck. Was clearly frustrated with how the night was going. Having to play shifts with Myers when they've repeatedly shown they don't play well together was likely a sore spot as well.

Lankinen - Mediocre performance. Stamkos' first goal was particularly soft, and he wasn't tracking the play as well as he usually does.

I'd prefer to wait until the deadline to make a move on the blueline, but this reminds of last season when the Canucks were injured & made their play for big Z. The situation right now is just untenable for a team that wants to make the playoffs. Really hope Boeser and Miller can recover from their injuries soon.

Probably the biggest justification for not making a bigger move prior to the TDL is the fact we haven't seen this team healthy at the same time.

And the cap space accruing stuff, but yeah, that more so

Why the f*** would you not call timeout after that icing with 2 minutes left so you can rest the big guns and have them ready to go for the final push.

Why would you send Juulsen out with 2 minutes left.

I like Tocchet, but his inaction at times is awful.

There was one play where Myers and a Nashville player were chasing the puck to the corner boards, and Myers just let the guy beat him to the puck, but could have at least battled hard on the boards, but the Predator won the puck very easily. I think he has just checked out, collecting a paycheck til retirement. The desire and fight isn't there at all.
