ps, seeing that bruins ad on tv with all those hits and fights really makes me a tad annoyed at how much the Bruins have changed.

I think luck is tilted more in the unlucky part than it is lucky. All those damned posts in the MTL series, even Bergy's post in the first period, a little to the left and we take an early lead :)

But Dougie doesn't always do that. Maybe the gameplan changes.

Also, I'm more just saying that I don't like a defefenseman giving the forward a lane to the net. Especially someone with Dougie's length. I don't know whose decision it was.

They usually have it set. If the D man doesn't follow what the plan is and gets skunked he's in for a reaming of Biblical proportions.

Hell, even when I played a million years ago the D knew they damn well better play pass and let me take the shooter. Especially, especially, especially, if the shooter was on my glove side.

You are in for many disappointing nights in the future. Them days are as gone as the last century.

I can live with this. It's going to be brutal to watch, D first & low scoring, but that period was fine by me. They weren't scrambling around and making stupid plays.

*If we're lucky* this is what it will look like for awhile, until the injured return. If they can keep their heads above water, or at .500, great. Also great: an extended look at the young ones. Who to keep, who to package, who's got it, who doesn't. :yo:

Way off topic, but remember Bourque?

Opposing team would get a 2 on 1, Bourque back, and you'd just shrug. He'd suck guys into thinking the pass was there, then take it away w/ an amazing play. You never worried, 77 always had it.

I certainly never worried when Ray Bourque was back there. And I never worry when Chara is back there.

I think now we're all seeing what life is going to be like without Chara. I don't like it very much.

Oh yeah. The great D men , truly great, have such long careers if healthy because of their wits.
They are smarter than the forwards they face.

Bourque, Park, Lidstrom, Robinson, all of em.
