Still 31st in points% with the win, but that'll happen when you dig yourself up into a hole.

Right now, the last playoff spot available would require 99.6 points to get. That's 90 points that are needed in the remaining 69 games. Actually more than 90 points, but we'll give the Kings a break for a nice effort tonight. Just to get those 90 points, they would need to play at a 107 point pace over 82 games. Last year, 107 points would've been 6th overall. So that's how well they have to play to make up for this start, just to get to the likely last playoff spot. It might be less than 99 points, but it probably won't be much less than 99 points.

It's going to be a hill to climb. Most likely, they have to get 8 points in the next 4 games before they have any sort of chance of thinking about getting back in the race, since they are still dead last. Any missed point right now is huge.

Found this, looks like John Hoven is now backing away from his original comment

I missed the last period, but the first two periods was some of their best hockey of the season by the kings. I thought Clifford provided some drive a few times attacking the net (the guy always gets grief but he isn't the problem). The Kings just looked more engaged and more physical than in a long time.

it could have been 6-1 or more we missed at least 3 open net shots and hit a post on another , kopi kept going and going to get his and they all played hard , like many i am conflicted but playing like this shit anything could happen...............and at the end of the game the players hung out to salute the crowd and i thought that was good since the crowd stayed in it all night also , starting chants without prompting , was wondering if they did this after the earlier wins since this was my first win in person

Go figure, the night I pass out drunk before puck drop is the game the Kings look awesome. Good news is I can enjoy a 14 lbs. brisket while watching the replay.

In the Mayor’s defense he called Lombardi and Sutter getting canned right before it happened. I think he has some connections. You guys shouldn’t get your feathers all ruffled.

I know he has connections.

But back pedaling after rumor mongering and suggesting his audience is the one with the problem understanding him is a ***** thing to do. When he is correct he's relentless in reminding you with how connected he is.

His contributor, Andy Tonge, pulled the same stuff here on HF.

Columbus has been playing poorly. This win is most likely just a dead cat bounce. It still feels good though.

Since I made my "I told you we should have traded Carter" post he's scored 4 points in 2 games, and is on pace for 57 points.

Brown is great and is one of the most under appreciated players in franchise history. Kovalchuk's playmaking ability has surprised me.

It's all good. The Kings need Carter to play well to get as much as they can for him in a trade. This doesn't change my thoughts on the correct course of action.

Some of the Kings players looked like they have read the rumors and are scared of leaving winter in Manhattan Beach. Now if the Kings could find a coach that would make the Kings players scared of leaving the Manhattan Beach winters every game we would be in business. Best game I've seen all season.
