Pretty good case we are watching the best hockey a player wearing a Canuck uniform has ever played.

Only other times I remember being this “wow’d” by a Canuck was in 2010 when Henrik put up the most ES points by a player since Lemieux & won the Hart, and Luongo’s absurd second half in 2007. Wish we had goals saved above expected for that season, as it would’ve showed how insane his performance really was.

I don’t know which performance has been the best of them, I’m just incredibly grateful to be even having this kind of discussion again.

Honest question...

Who DOESN'T look good with Miller? I'm honestly tempted to put EP back on his line to get him going.

It's becoming a reoccurring theme with Miller, EVERYONE plays better around him.

When everyone is healthy this forward group is going to be fun

Debrusk-Miller-Boeser
Joshua-EP-Garland
Heinen-Blueger-Sherwood
Suter-Raty-Hoglander
Same with Blueger, everyone plays well with Teddy. For the cost and early promise, we should be saying that about EP but he’s not that kind of player, so it seems.

Are the Canucks too nice/soft? Should’ve pummeled that POS immediately after that late dirty blind side hit on Boeser. More emotion testosterone and passion was needed to be shown. Can’t let teams get away with that garbage, especially on your star player.

Nonsense. They showed plenty of emotion.

They needed to focus on winning and that's exactly what they did. Played a feisty game and came out on top. That's the true test of a tough team. This idea that retribution needs to be found is some serious draconian garbage. You don't play the game to hurt people, this isn't the 70's-90's anymore. That's exactly what you're suggesting. You want to respond to garbage with more garbage - 2 wrongs don't make a right.

I keep hearing this 'no response to the hit' crap and I just shake my head. Got your priorities all whacked up.

Things improve materially when Joshua comes back, but you probably don't want him fighting much anyway. Me of last night would say yes...FACK YES. me of today says, let's not out leaf the leafs here with some negative value knuckle dragger.

I do like the idea of adding someone who loves to get in on the forecheck and throws hits to inflict pain, but unless Sammy Blais finds his legs again...it's going to be hard to find that.

Strong performance, best win of the season so far. Team really doubled down after the nauseating cheapshot on Boeser. Strong defensive effort, strong performances from top to bottom of the lineup.

Reffing was f***ing terrible. Entire game was treated like they need to even up a 'break' we received when they gave a ridiculously obvious 5-minute penalty when our leading goal scorer was injured on an awful cheap shot. 0 PPs the rest of the way, multiple soft calls handed to them,

Jeannot should be getting a very long suspension. That was about as predatory as it gets. What a f***ing puke of a player. Liked our response in the context of playing the game hard but this did make it obvious how little actual physical pushback we have in games like this and how much Zadorov's presence is missed.

Totally agree with your statement on the refereeing although I hadn't considered that they may have been make up calls for the major - I think you are correct though...

Either way, the Hoglander penalty (50-50 where he just gets lower body position), the DeBrusk penalty (gets pushed in then trapped by Gavrikov), and the Hronek penalty (the classic should have been a holding the stick call the other way), as well as the on-call on the high stick on Hoglander were all pretty egregious.

Very dirty hit and Jeannot deserves at least a dozen game suspension. I suspect it just wasn't really noticed at the time because it was sort of behind the play and that there will be a response if Jeannot is in the lineup on Jan 16th.

It's so hard to find a legit deterrent that can actually play the game and not hold the team back when they are on the ice. Can you imagine this team with Sherwood and Joshua up front with Zadorov on the back end hammering people and making idiots answer the bell? It would have gone a long way towards establishing an identity as a hard team to play against. I can't think of another player (maybe Tom Wilson?) that fill that hole.
