I didn't see a replay so I'm going off what my eyes are remembering but holy shit Trouba went in 100 MPH and 10s late on a pinch that lead to Panarin taking that hooking penalty. I was yelling at him at least once a shift.

Yep and once he was in there, he couldn't circle out. Just pushed himself into a pile of guys like a bowling ball, hoping to take out a couple rushers.

I’m usually one to admit when my team gets a lucky break, but I don’t want to hear it about that last Penalty. Carolina had plenty of chances to win the game and didn’t cash in.

I feel more sympathy for the Pacers than I do the Hurricanes.

It is clear that Carolina studied tape and game prepped for trying to expose the center of the offensive zone against our D, they were constantly flipping there for tips or quick snap shots off a pass. Trouba and Gus are the worst pair for being exposed to that since they both adjust the slowest. Gotta be something that they make an adjustment for coaching-wise heading into Carolina.

Wouldn't be surprised if Rempe sits for Chytil next game. Carolina loves to play the matchup game at home, and they would target Rempe being on the ice with their top line.

Since we won the game, Trouba's performance tonight was an all-time hilarious chaotic triumph if we're all being honest. Boneheaded penalties multiple times over, poorly timed pinches, a few good hits, the worst turnover of his life gifting them a goal, almost breaking his neck and decapitating someone with his skate. Just an absolutely hilarious performance.

It reminds me of Dan Girardi scoring in a game 7 and just flashing the biggest grin of all time

The way to take advantage would be to insert Chytil and Brodzinsky for Rempe and Vesey. At very least - fresh legs that would be very important after only one day until the next game after 2OT. I’d do this regardless of the win or loss tonight.

I think Rempe might be done for the playoffs after tonight. We got zero contribution from him while he was out there tonight. Game 1 wasn't much better. He needs to improve his strength on his skates & his stop-start ability. I think he can be a useful player, but he is still raw.

Hate to be negative after a win like this, but Kakko was egregiously invisible tonight. That face off win was his only bright spot.
