I'm online having fun with web pals. During a conversation I think of a funny moment from a film or a TV show which is relevant to what's been said, I go to find a gif of it to post. Except when I use the world's largest and best search engine I get a bunch of results that aren't gifs. They're a still frame from the gif. Hmm I wonder, why are these showing up when I quite clearly typed "gif" into the search bar? I'll have a look at the website and see if it's something wrong with my computer. Oh, no, it's what can best be described as a hit accumulator, a site which forces you to visit it to see what you were looking for in the first place. Who came up with this? And for some reason they rehost all the gifs themselves even though their pages all have links to the tumblrs the gifs originated from. Who permits this ****? Why must making people smile faintly on the internet have to involve such a convoluted and pointless process?
