Okay, I was just thinking Butcher, because he was usually game, even if he was facing a beatdown. Regardless, Semenko, Brown and McSorley regularly mopped the floor with our tough guys who, outside of a reluctant Dave Richter, were either not true heavyweights or were too old or too young. Odjick changes that.

And no, we didn’t lose 10-1, but we did lose 13-0.
Yes, I remember that 13-0 game! But Edmonton never really beat up the Canucks in fights. McSorley edged Butcher once in a brief bout and had a draw with Glen Cochrane - his only 2 fights as an Olier vs Canucks (except when he returned later in his career and fought Brashear). Brown on Edmonton's only fight prior to Odjick was with Ronnie Stern. Semenko didn't mop in any of his fight vs. Canucks.

Feb 28 1995. I was 11 years old attending my first ever Canucks game, against the San Jose Sharks. My Dad managed to get lower bowl seats about 10th row in the Pacific Coliseum. We sat behind Kirk Mclean. Wade Flaherty was in net for the Sharks, I hated him. He sucked as a goalie but was god-like against the Canucks. This game was no different, 5mins into the 2nd period the Sharks were up 3-0. By now, Flaherty was now playing in my end. Did I mention I hated Flaherty? At the 10min mark the puck was dumped into the corner in the Shark's zone. Flaherty went to retrieve the puck as all 5 Shark players changed. The Canucks were also changing. Except for Odjick. He was on the Shark's blueline away from the boards...alone. He skated toward Flaherty. The game was boring, the crowd was quiet and I hated Flaherty, so I yelled at the top of my lungs HIT HIM!!!!! Odjick picked up steam and crushed Flaherty into the boards, and knocked him to his knees. Jeff Odgers came in to defend his goalie and Odgers fought and knocked down Odjick. However Odgers got the instigator penalty and was tossed out of the game. While Odjick got 5mins and came back. Flaherty was able to finish the period but was replaced by Arturs Irbe who started the 3rd period. Odjick was able to spark the Canucks who made a game of it but fell short 4-3. He had an assist on the 2nd Canucks goal. Odjick is a fan favorite. I will never forget that night.
