I still would argue that the break completely bundled them. That being said, they have to wake up, the signs for some guys were there for a while. Timo, as good as he's been, he's not being paid 8.8M for being simply a line driver. He needs to actual score goals/get points. Nico, outside of his shooting bender this year, has looked pedestrian. The bottom 6 is an indictment on some of Fitz's decisions and now he probably has pay with assets to fix it legitimately. It sucks because it looks Markstrom is starting to look like the goalie we traded for but the skaters decided they aren't going to do anything for the most part. Also the Jack criticism is so stupid, if you want him to stop doing dumb shit then he's not going to be nearly the game breaker he is offensively. The Islanders neutered Barzal for two way hockey and they destroyed themselves long term because of it.
Jack doesn’t deserve the criticism for the most part, but today I think he put the nail in our coffin.

Overall? No.

Asking him to be the difference in a game where Sam Ersson is in net on the other side is more of an indictment on the forward group than Jack himself. It'd be ok if someone nutted up once and made a play for this team especially the bottom 6. It's shades of the 17-18 team where if Hall had a bad game, they were toast automatically

I made the 17-18 comparison in here today.

Keith Kinkaid needs to save us.

We lost a tough one today. My hated Flyers got two points but while that was happening I was enjoying a treat having a get together for lunch and drinks in Bradley Beach NJ with NJDevsRR, RNCDevil, and Its Always Sundstrom while watching the game. It may have been a loss of 2 points but for me a very enjoyable early afternoon. Thanks guys.

I mean I've been on the Markstrom hate brigade but he's playing lights out since Christmas, it'd be a shame if the skaters just died on him after they played so well pre Christmas. This team is better defensively by miles and in net so it's annoying they're playing like that team a bit here.

What a crew!

Shout out to @NjDevsRR (as well as @RNCDevil and @Its Always Sundstrom ) for organizing that little get together with @Maine Fan. I'm bummed that I couldn't make it. Great job in getting an ol Devils fan out to hang with some friends.

Sucks about the crappy game but I hope you guys had a good time!
Super awesome gesture. We have a nice little community here, super happy to be part of it daily!

At the end of the day that's more important. Glad you had a nice afternoon.

I’ve went from 55% sure they’ll make the playoffs to 65% sure they’ll make it. I’m tossing up the 55% to my neurotic, dark mindset today.

But it will be 55% if we lose tomorrow in regulation. It was gonna be 45%.
Do the Rangers have like a 0.5% chance of making it with these odds?

Wish they won for you today, but plenty of wins are coming in the future.

I know you said you only caught the highlights, so I’m not sure what you did in fact see but Jack is getting bagged on because he killed the shift that felt like we had them on the ropes to go back ahead. It was an egregious turnover that forced Siegs to take a penalty and lead to the go ahead goal.

He wasn’t alone, the entire team felt like they couldn’t connect passes all game. But he made some plays with the puck that left me just baffled overall. Plays he was not making a month ago. I have a feeling he, like the others, is trying to do too much given the offense has really dried up during this slump.

Keefe pointed out the puck control was a major issue today.

19th row center ice for that chit show

Same here but in section 20. They look slow, passing isn't crisp, and decision making is a second or two off. 7 SOG after two is terrible and it wasn't like the Flyers were the Devils from 20 years ago. The bottom 6 are ghosts.

I honestly would like to say they have a better chance than any of the bubble teams like Columbus, Detroit and Montreal.

Not sure how all three of these teams are hot at the same time.

Here is a distillation of the only issue I have with Keefe so far - you can not expect to win a game in the modern NHL when you only score once.
