It's stupid. The Devils would have to play like this for the rest of the season. I do not believe they will be doing that.

Off the top of my head I can't honestly remember a game they really outplayed the opposition during this last 10 game stretch. They couldn't do it against the Ducks or the Sharks either. This stretch is actually showing how weak their bottom 6 is and how mediocre they are 5 on 5. The special teams and Markstrom carried them for a while.

i think it was 7 and it set an nhl record. they have it in them and it wasn’t a fluke. but it’s no guarantee they get back to that. i expected them to have figured it out by now so im not gonna lie i am concerned

They were really good during that streak. They were not good on the road trip. Both of these things are okay, and expect over the course of a long season.

If we have another 10 game with a record like our last 10 then we’re probably battling with several teams.
We’re 2-5-3 in our last 10. With 3 regulation losses to Anaheim, San Jose and Philly. All trash teams.
If we go 2-5-3 in our next 10 games that’s on pace for 88 points.
We have quite a few shitty humpty and bubble teams to feast on before playing Vegas. It’s nothing but meh teams until then. But for us that means a bunch of underwhelming losses.

Still T4 by points percentage in the east, one for 4 teams with double digit goal differentials.Look at the goal differentials for the rest of the East - we should not be concerned about losing a playoff spot as of today.

Yesterday I would have been with you. In fact, that was my exact thinking... but this going on for almost a month now....and it's not just that....
It's a real lack of compete and attention to detail. It's starting to feel a little more systemic than rut.
