Handel has potential but he's not ready for all they have handed him here.

Sucks for Germnay... played a nice game and tourney. That pool sucks.

3 our of 4 years that Latvia has made Quarters and they have a win over Canada too. This is a young team.. so good for them!

Tomorrow against Finland might be interesting too!
Latvia can still make noise but only if Osmanis is ok. Or they really let the kids loose.

Pure drama.

Congrats Latvia for reaching the quarter finals. We'll see if we face Khazastan or Switzerland in the relegation game.
No way in hell Kazakhstan beats the Swiss. And no way in hell they'll beat you guys.

Really hope that is not the case. Pertuch will be rested and ready. Play their game and they will be fine.

Mateiko... there is a potential bottom 6 NHLer there.

does anyone else think Latvia only looked bad when they were 'protecting the tie'?

i swear ihave seen this for 30 years - let's protect the lead, and so let the other team walk into our zone and set up easily, over and over.

i dont think it is a good strategy, and it happens all the time.

Man never knows! Anything is possible in a game and the Kazakhs did quite well against the Slovaks today.
The Slovaks shit their own bed. They lost focus entirely.

Germany is not known for losing any sort of game plan mid-game. Kazakhstan has near 0 chance against Germans.

I have to agree with Namejs on this one. The Slovaks had a well-deserved two-goal lead and managed to blow it playing man up. To throw a game like that requires some talent in itself.

Nah, they were bad for the first 30 minutes. I swear the first time I heard the names of our first line was when they scored their first goal half way through the game. I'm happy for guys like Serkins, Ozollapa and Sarts that they were as noticeable. But they won't give result and I'm glad our main guys decided to step up in the second half.

Congrats to Latvia! Even though Canada didn't play their best against them, it was clearly evident in that game that Latvia has a great group of players this year that can compete in the top division. They proved it again today against Germany.
