Insane to see prospects for a country where the majority of their future top6 for the men participates at the same time in the WJC's.

Murnieks, Osmanis and Mateiko will probably be their best players in the future. And those who are 2-3 years younger than the majority and still competing here will most likely play for the mens future rosters in the WC's and so on. Glad for them.

If Latvia wins this one it will be a toss upp against Finland. But if Germany wins this? I think Latvia will beat Finland.

Latvia is trying for that high slot shot incessantly. They cycle it for a bit and then someone tries to shoot it through 8 players and beat the goalie. I guess it's worth a try but it seems like it's their only tactic.

Edit: lol 2-2 so I guess just keep trying?

The 2nd period was much better.

Mateiko showing leadership, Osmanis stepping up when it matters as well.

I gave Uljanskis the benefit of the doubt in the games against the US and Canada, but this guy is a defensive liability. He has coughed up the puck at least 4 times in the WJC so far. Completely unforced turnovers on his part.

They will probably double shift the top line and the top pairing D and they will be completely gassed tomorrow. So I don't expect any upsets against Finland.

Good luck boys

They were clearly overdoing it, because the Germans have parked the bus in front of the middle/crease area and no one had any creative takes on how to solve that.

There's some rationale behind it, but it isn't working so far

I believe Latvia beats Finland but perhaps loses this one.

If they lose both games and Canada beats the US it would be pretty insane. Has the group winning nation ever lost against the nation ending up last in the same group? I can't remember anything similar?
