He and his team had played much better since this post.

8 points in his past 6 games.
If he could manage to keep up something close to a ppg pace for the rest of the season, that would be amazing.
I really hope he can take a big step forward this season. To the point where his move to North America actually pays off in his development which has certainly not been the case for many of our prospects in recent years.

Should also point out that Swift Current dropped Rayan Bettahar.

Not too surprising, since he had been scratched for a few games now.
I would guess he tries to find a spot with another CHL team (I assume since he was released he can just sign anywhere), and if that fails, will return to Germany. But that is just a guess.
Maybe he goes to the USHL instead like Mick Köhler did a few years ago.

Proske also had 5 or more game stretches where he scored at a PPG pace. I don’t think Hauf will keep this up. Would still be nice if he could finish at 0.5 PPG or something like that.

I believe to be released, he had to clear waivers first, so that would mean this has already happened and nobody else picked him up. They also would’ve tried to trade him first.

Bettahar has signed with Eisbären Berlin. So, there is that mystery solved.

Wonder where he will spend the most time, the DEL squad, in Weißwasser (DEL2) or on the U20 team in the DNL.

I just checked the NHL stats for our NHL players past and present. It's nice seeing several young players climbing the ranks all at once.
I only included actual Germans and a couple of "German-Canadians" that I think have had a big enough impact on German hockey.

Phillip Grubauer onto the second round of the playoffs for Seattle - he from what I hear has been great.

Leon onto the second round also for Edmonton.

Maksymilian Szuber signs an ELC with Arizona.

Hakon Hänelt returns to Germany and has signed with Köln.

Also, Lukas Kälble signed with Bremerhaven. I am very curious how he will do in the DEL.

Hopefully Hänelt stays injury free for once and gets some playing time in Cologne. Never had the chance to really get going the past few years
Indeed. I really like the move to Cologne though. Exited to see what he can do there and how much of a shot he’s really going to get. He already played pro before moving overseas, so he should get more of a chance then the U23s coming straight from the DNL. Then again, a guy like Yannick Proske still isn’t getting much ice time in Iserlohn, who are much, much weaker than Cologne, even though he also played a year of pro followed by a full, injury-free year of major junior.

In general, Hänelt is in desperate need of just playing a full, productive, competitive season where he can strut whatever he has on a gameday for gameday basis. To date, he looks like a guy who may never slip the injury bug. His body may just not be up to it.

As for Proske, yep, disappointing that his return to the DEL ended up being what it was. Perhaps moreso because he wasn't all that bad in the Dub and so many other young German players were able to have solid DEL seasons.

Makes you wonder how Hauf is going to look when he ends up back in Germany.

A little surprised to see Tropmann wasn’t selected - not saying he‘d report but he’s a defender that I think would thrive on N/A ice with how he is able to provide quick, accurate outlet passes and his ability to process the game fast.

My initial thought is that teams that may have done their due diligence found out he has zero interest of going over. He'll likely be forcefed with ice time next season, at several levels.

I’m more surprised that Kaiser was selected. He may be big but I definitely feel like he’d have a much higher chance of success in th OHL as an 18-year-old after another year in the academy.

My initial thought is he was told and believed that he’ll play a big role in the DEL, but in the end it’s Junghaie and Bad Nauheim for him. Tropmann is the perfect type of player who’d have benefited from playing in the CHL.

I’m honestly a little disappointed by Panocha’s landing spot. Would’ve preferred to see him in the O or dub.

Just saw that Maximilian Brunner was drafted 421st in the NCDC Draft by the Utah Outliers. Seems insignificant given the draft position but 1) a player like that doesn’t get drafted at all unless his agent pushes his name and 2) Brunner is with the same agent as Luke Volkmann, who played for the Outliers in the 2020-21 season. So there might be something there.

That's surprising to me, because I thought he was doing ok in Sweden and this seems like a step back if he actually goes that route.
Sure, he is no super high end prospect, but when I saw him play I liked him well enough and I figured he would either stick in Sweden (maybe try to get on a bigger team) or return to Germany to split time between the DNL and DEL2 or Oberliga.

I just hope his agent (if he is the one potentially pushing this move) is really acting in his best interest.
But who knows, he might not actually go to the NCDC or if he does, maybe it turns out to be a good move for him in the end.
But with little I know about it, I am sceptical.

I’m sure if he was actually committed, he would’ve been drafted much higher
