Obviously, the playoffs have been shot for a while --but we have a few games left in which there are prospects thst can get their first taste of NHL action.
This can be really beneficial for them understanding the pace of the game down the road (+ training/motivation over the summer). None of these call-ups hurt the all-important tank.
On my list of players I want to see get called up:
1) Brunet: most realistic full-time NHLer down the road.
2) Kuntar: AHL -tweener who goes all-out and deserves a reward of NHL time to see where he needs to get to on the 4th line. His competition is the useless Brown FWIW.
3) Viel: (vet) should have been up in place of vanilla-Beecher all season long and especially with Kastelic out.
4) Max Wanner: plays like Jason Smith and should get 2 games now to see NHL pace and get a taste.
5) NCAA'ers who can get NHL games to knock a year off contract. Something NHL playoff fringe teams can't offer as easily.
Who am I missing?
