General Prospect Discussion 2024 25

Sometimes stuff just gets ridiculous. Spokane is up 5-2 on Vancouver in the playoff game today just over 1.5 minutes in the 2nd period.

Catton has been in on all of the goals: 1G and 4A so far.

PDX-PG game seven tonight, lets go Jugnauth!!
Birds and Tips has been a good one too, and have watched a bit of Spokane's series too.

I've actually been prioritizing the WHL playoffs over NHL games lately. Most have been really fun and exciting, and there are so many names to watch among all the competing teams... guys who are prospects for SEA and that other team I like, or upcoming studs who are soon-to-be drafted highly.

Tips and Birds has been a really good series. Got pretty chippy too in the last couple of games. I was falling the Swift Current series as well for Caswell and same with the PDX series for Jugnauth.

What a finish in Prince George, Winterhawks advance by the skin of their teeth. PDX goalie Stebetak played most of the final 90 seconds with his stick out of reach behind the net, and of course PG put the extra attacker on. Tense! Our guy Jug had two assists in the game.

This Winterhawks vs Silvertips series is off to a great start. Chippy first game and is heading into OT now.

I really like Miettinen so far. His offensive skillset is good but not high-end. He has a good size, skates well, is very good at protecting the puck. Also, parks himself in front of the net and causes havoc. I can see him being a good 3C for us if he continues developing. Maybe even a 2C if he hits his ceiling.

Jugnauth is pretty slick offensively. Making plays at both ends and scored the first Winterhawks goal. I did see him get pushed off the puck in his own zone and his size is a problem but I think that is fixable by hitting the gym.

Hamell has looked really good. He seems to make really good plays in his own zone but offensively he mainly keep things simple by moving the puck quickly out of the zone. And once in a while you just see him skating into the zone like it is so natural to him. I think he correctly focuses on his D first and never cheats but I see flashes from him that make me think he could be a decent 2nd pairing D man down the road.
