OT: General OT Thread #44 - The World is Still Turning

Brilliant. The exclusive is all the bonus stuff, the overlay and slipmat. I like the Target version with the purple vinyl the most of those I've seen so far. Probably around 45-50 bucks. Your wife clearly knows her stuff.
Bonus points for the dog cameo in lower corner.
Love it.

It was $19.99 IIRC we bought a couple other random things while there and I spent less than $30 total on that trip.

Princess Sparkletits is a spoiled rotten little dog.

That price is just insane. Are you sure the cashier wasn't under gun point when you shopped?

Standard pricing with big numbers above it on the end cap.

The digital music sites have done a lot to keep physical copies at reasonable prices. Just looked it up online and it says $25.99. So maybe it was a day 1 sale of some sort, I remembered wrong, she told me the wrong price so I'd buy it for her, or she had a coupon of some sort (all are distinct possibilities).

Should be named 'Gross'.

I don't get it. I don't understand the draw. They do absolutely nothing for me. They opened for Maiden a few years back. Was expecting that maybe the live show was what got everyone into them. It was mediocre at best. Help me understand. Because, I don't.
I won't describe the band as gross... but they also don't do a whole lot for me outside of a song or two.

Just a play on their name. But, yeah. Just not a fan.

I showed that to the gross post wife. She started yelling at the screen in defense of the band. It made me laugh watching her. Then said it's not like it was about your all time #1 band. She said she'd make an account here just to yell at whoever dissed that band.

No, I'm gonna tell what her #1 band is. Someone on here would go get a big stick, sharpen it to a fine point, and then poke the bear just to see what happens.

She seems a little over invested.

She;s more invested in her music than we are in the Wild.
I get that. Mostly. I listen to music the better part of my day. Anytime I'm driving. If I get time to slow things down at work, first thing I do is fire up my desk speakers. If I'm at home I'm usually playing guitar, practicing or learning new songs until I go to bed. So it's massive part of my life. But, I learned a long time ago, people seem to go the opposite direction when you get overly into or defensive about bands or whatnot. People are weird about music. Seems like there is something to people finding stuff all on their own. Must be something about making a connection, if I had to guess the why of it. And if they really don't like a band, good chance you're not changing their mind. Hell sometimes it's even if they've heard bad things about a band. For me, it's not like I don't give bands a chance. Lot of times I'll revisit something I don't like months or years later, just on the chance I might've been in a sketchy mood the day I heard them. Ghost...isn't one of those. Have tried 3-4 times. Just musically, not my deal. Probably not going to magically start liking them now. The Ghost fans didn't help it either. There are a LOT of them that are pretty over the top about it. So it goes from me just 'not being into it' into an almost full on dislike of them because of it. Mostly...indifference. Just the way it is. It's why the music thread we have going in this forum is great. It's generally just us posting a few vids and if the other guys dig it, cool. You got some new stuff to check out. It's mostly dominated by the 3 of us, but I think we've all shown each other a bunch of new stuff. But no one really gets over the top with it. None of us goes on a tangent if the others aren't into a band.

The music thread isn't stuff I'm into. TBH I'm don't listen to much music anymore. My ears (tinitus and hypreacuity) are too messed up enjoy it for long.

I've put enough random music as the intro for GDTs that my youtube suggestion algorithm is fubar. lol

I can confirm that Mrs Wabit is indeed very invested in her Ghost fandom. So much that she decided to send a copy of that Target version of the new album to a random fool halfway across the world. She took the time and money to go and buy it, then sent it to me free, just because she is such a nice person. What a lovely thing to do for somebody she most likely will never meet.

The wife is the nice one in the relationship. I'm just glad we got it shipped out before she decided that she needed to knit you a hat. She'll take any excuse to go to the yarn store.

I'm pretty sure her head cannon is you took the record to work and ran around holding it up like a trophy. Going "neener, neener, neener" to anyone who doubted it would show up after the postal issue.

Enjoy the record and boob the snoot for your cute doggo (her words).
