TIL (Today I Learned) that the Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch is real...

"And Saint Attila raised the hand grenade up on high, saying, 'O Lord, bless this thy hand grenade, that with it thou mayst blow thine enemies to tiny bits, in thy mercy.' And the Lord did grin. And the people did feast upon the lambs, and sloths, and carp, and anchovies, and orangutans, and breakfast cereals, and fruit bats, and large chulapas."

"And the Lord spake, saying, 'First shalt thou take out the Holy Pin. Then shalt thou count to three, no more, no less. Three shall be the number thou shalt count, and the number of the counting shall be three. Four shalt thou not count, neither count thou two, excepting that thou then proceed to three. Five is right out. Once the number three, being the third number, be reached, then lobbest thou thy Holy Hand Grenade of Antioch towards thy foe, who, being naughty in My sight, shall snuff it.'

Coast Guard officials said during a news conference Thursday that they've notified the families of the crew of the Titan, which has been missing for several days. Debris found during the search for the vessel “is consistent with a catastrophic implosion of the vessel,” said Rear Adm. John Mauger of the First Coast Guard District.

I really want to feel bad for these people but when the CEO comes (came) out and dismisses safety....

Learning new things and them using them to offend/annoy my kid is a hobby of mine.

Today I learned this:

So I asked her to get me testicle fruit toast and a coffee with nut juice and 2 sugars when she went to Starbucks. She got the deer in a headlights look at me then repeated it back very slowly.

I said "yep, an avocado toast and a coffee with almond milk and 2 sugars." Then sent her this meme. She then called me some not nice words under her breath. About 5 secs later she goes "wait, you don't like almond milk or avocados." I said "I know, but it's worth $10 to have you go up to the counter and make that order." I get more under the breath nasty words and an "I hate it here" comment.

A couple hours later I hear her on the phone with her friend and she steals my line and uses it on them. Proud papa moment, right there.

My kid is going into 12th grade this year so I've started to teach her some life lessons they don't teach in any school.

The focus lately has been on how to make it so your friends will invite you to their homes instead of them coming over to your place. After all when you're young, broke, and have your own place having people over is a money sink. They eat your food, use your paper good, and you have to clean up after them.

It's really just a bunch of little things to do when people are over that add up to just giving the place a weird vibe.
Some examples:
-adjust the tv volume so it ends in the number 1, 3, 7, or 9 (make sure they notice it).
-make it so the toilet paper and paper towels on the rolls have a mullet (so that it's hangs down from the back).
-if you make them a sandwich cut it in half so it makes rectangles (not triangles) but make the cut slightly off center and a couple degrees from being square.
-if you make them a bowl of cereal put the milk in the bowl first (make sure they see this).

She told me she hates it when I do these type of things. My reply was, "Well you want to move out don't you?" I get the indignant look from her and a "Fine. Point taken."

What? But these lessons... they are the dark ways.

More of a chaotic neutral imo. Gotta give the kid every tool I possibly can to survive on her own. My honest answer to "what the do you think is ideal job for your kid when they grow up" is: night manager at a Waffle House in Florida.

Meet Kinga, my now 9 week old Viszla. She is about 70% pain in my ass and 30% sweetheart. Absolutely cannot WAIT to go hunting with her next year

I watched the new Indiana Jones and Mission Impossible movies.

My main thought for the Indy movie was, well it's better than the crystal skulls one at least. Indy was good, the bad guy was good, the old characters were good. The new heroes were just unlikeable for me. the 2:30 run time was just too long and felt bogged down.

The new MI movie was much better in comparison. It doesn't quite have that Top Gun "must see in theaters" aspect to it for me, but it does have a couple of moments. I did like how they ended the movie. It's a "to be continued" but not a "cliffhanger" end to the movie.

Cute pup. What type of hunting you taking her on? Duck, goose, coon, python, women at the beach?
