If he wins, good for him, but all this should show anyone is that there are two sides that are in a different place in their trajectory and that this should show how much they should part with Sullivan. Two things could be true, Sullivan is a bad coach for this team and that Sullivan is a good coach in general.
This is a team that is looking to move into the post Sid & Geno era and need a coach that will have a better understanding of development even if the NHL isn't for that, this is the path you choose as a team looking to get younger and get into the new era with a new face of the team. Sullivan clearly is a fan of veterans and needs basically an All-Star team to win, good for him, a team that does great and fails in the first round should be 100% after Sullivan and the Penguins should 100% be firing Sullivan after this season.
He won't get the Pens back into the playoffs. He won't make them better. That's not the path they're on and to expect that he will is pure ignorance by FSG & Dubas. I truly don't give a shit about Sullivan, if he goes and thrives elsewhere, good for him, as long as he's gone and this team finally moves on like it should, it shouldn't matter.
