So apparently Rantanen appealed this fine, the appeal went through and the 2000$ fine was cancelled. Article in Finnish.

Very interesting. Never heard of a fine being rescinded. I sounds like his claim is that he toe picked.

Apparently Rantanen is a little pissed off about that, too. He's lamenting that NHL announces these fines publicly before ever talking to the players, and then they stay silent after rescinding the fine. No one wants to be known as a diver.

I can only find a few Finnish sources, all citing some interview conducted by NordicBet. I'm guessing they only released it to Finnish news outlets.

Interesting to note, the last 4 altercations that the NHL felt required supplemental disciple but not enough to warrant a suspension were all for the Bruins.
