Providence Bruins General Discussion thread ‘24-‘25

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

I mentioned earlier that the blueline is going to be crowded in the playoffs but the forwards are gonna be loaded. Assuming Lettieri, Brown, and Lysell are returned for the playoffs, we could see something like:

Merkulov-Poitras-Lettieri
Wahlstrom-Farinacci-Lysell
Tufte-Brown-Pitlick
Viel-Minten-Duran

That would leave Gaudet, Harrison, Abate, Kuntar, and Nelson as your healthy scratches. That lineup should do some damage in the playoffs.

That lineup beats the nhl team like 45% of the time

Sad part is this may put something of a problem in their ability to sign UDFA (and maybe their own draft picks ) this year. They could give a guy like Schmaltz (or a UDFA) an ATO contract, but there really is no place for them at the moment, same is rue on defense.

Hope it's just an off year.. and bounces back with a healthy Charlie!

The ahl defence isnt helping.

Bruins top 4 doesn’t exist. Who on the current bruins roster is a top 4 Dman? Zadarov? Lohrei? Joker? Meh. With out mcavoy, Carlo and lindholm this teams defence is horrible. They also
Traded away two good defensive forwards in coyle and Marchand.

Teams horrible as it’s currently constructed.

The two best defence are injured.

Middlestat is the #1 centre? Who in the top six are actually proven top six players?

with a healthy defence and hopefully the emergence of another top six prospect, Maybe this team can make swayman look elite again.

it`s not just the team in front of him though, his struggles controlling rebounds, his side to side movements have been putrid, that doesn`t fall in his teammates. Now, better D likely clear those rebounds but still, this is not the same goalie we had become accustomed to. He needs to shut his mouth and stop pucks, period.

You are right, but Swayman's movement is way off. It happens sometimes to goalies on lousy teams overcompensating, but still should be better.

A Long shot but a prospect nonetheless

To me it's always nice to see that the team thinks enough of a drafted player to get him under contract in some shape or form. Most won't make it, we know that, but a few will and it starts with this.
