I don’t have access to Globe articles. Can someone who watches Providence please provide information on call-up defenseman Michael Callahan. I don’t remember much discussion about how he got to the organization from Providence College or his play in Providence. Thanks . . .

Drafted by Arizona in 2018, 5th round
Rights traded to Boston in 2022 for a future 7th round pick in 2024
Has played 175 AHL games
He's a smart, steady defender that struggled in net front battles in past seasons
Wore the C at Providence College starting his Sophomore year
Limited offensively but has intangibles
Kind of your typical player Boston likes to sign, decent floor, questionable upside, good in the room, buys in immediately and you won't have to worry about his off ice behavior

Thank you very much. Looks like he’s the type of quality individual I like for Boston. Remains to be seen how much he can contribute, but low cost to get him in the organization.

For a month or two in Boston after missing most of camp. He had been a good bottom 6 NHL player for 200+ games before he got to Boston

Agreed- never lived up to his draft potential which makes him Minimum (plus I am like Eric, I think it's a great nickname)- but I liked the signing a lot at the time and still think he has something positive to offer if/when he makes it back.
