Minnesota leads Michigan 4-0 in the 3rd. Strauss Mann was pulled for Eric Portillo in the 2nd after giving up 4 goals on 13 shots. Portillo has stopped all 11 shots he's faced. Carolina looks like they got themselves good goalie prospect in the 2016 3rd round with Jack Lafontaine.

The Gophers take both games and go to 8-0. Lafontaine gets the shutout. Portillo stopped all 17 shots he faced and looked calm and in control.

Michigan is hurting with the kids away at WJC camp
The way Lafontaine is playing for Minnesota you need to play a nearly perfect game to beat him. He gave up 1 goal in the 68 shots he faced in the 2 game series. Michigan needs to stop taking bad penalties. They took 7 tonight to 3 for the Gophers. Last night they took 5 penalties to 1 for Minnesota. The Golden Gophers are playing without one of the top prospects in all of hockey, Ryan Johnson. :naughty:

I agree Minn thumped them, especially with that stonewall in net. Minn missing Johnson and Faber made it more impressive as that's one of their pairings, but York and Beniers forced Powers into the 1D slot that he can't handle yet and moved Johnson to 1C
