Been watching a bit of random series here and there.

- Watched Violet Evergarden movie, not sure if they meant it but it was like watching a prolonged episode to me. I thought the first half was pretty boring, but the second half was great. Was a good movie in the end.

- Saw Angel Beats! again and still a quality anime. I don't like manga, but reading Heaven's Door right now and actually not liking it. Stupid plots, I want to know how these characters died damnit.

2 note here, the full Violet Evergarden movie (sequel one) is coming soon-ish. I think it's in theatres / about to be in theatres in Japan. I saw some movie posters + popcorn / snack boxes themed for the movie floating around the internet recent. I think last week. my understanding is the one on netflix and such already is more of a full length OVA rather than a full on movie (still great though).

On the 2nd, there is an upcoming KEY anime written by Jun Maeda (Angel Beats! / Charlotte and worked on a bunch of the other KEY stuff like Clannad) called The Day I Became a God that starts in a couple weeks. Haven't heard a lot of stuff about it but looking forward giving it a shot, I've like the majority of KEY stuff

I will say, I need to watch more anime for this season. SNAFU S3 is something I really need to watch more of as I love that series.

The only thing I've been keeping up with is SAO, mainly because it's been good.

Yeah, I was quite confused about that because I watched one and it was pretty good, but not as good as some of the episodes. I am wondering if it was the full-lenth OVA? FYI, it was the one where this girl was chosen to be part of this arranged wedding after being an orphan from the show's war. Or she was adopted into a royal family, I keep forgetting which one it is (or maybe it was a combination of both). Thanks for the info.

SNAFU this season is been pretty boring IMHO, heavy dialogue without a lot of action or story elements until perhaps the last two episodes.

I was confused for a lot of this season of SNAFU. Thinking of rewartching season 1 and 2.

The show relies on heavy cryptic speech and innuendos to cause people to theorise what's going to happen. That's an aspect which I suggest the show lets the viewer down even though in the end it's still a solid anime.

So that Food Wars finale was as bad as you could've potentially had, absolutely atrocious conclusion to a show that was as amazing as it was. Been reading around and some people make great points that the BLUE arc - a lot of the characters got lost - wasn't ever truly needed for either the manga or anime. Seems that the manga creator "Bleach 2.0" it.

So I just recently started and finished Hunter x Hunter. I thought it was done pretty well, the latter part of the series gets very serious very quickly and I thought that was good. The Phantom Troupe arc was phenomenal I felt like the next and final real arc was sub par after that but it did resolve itself well. I hope the author can find a way to continue it.

Then I rewatched Black Lagoon for the first time in probably 10 years, I'd never watched the OVAs but it was even more fantastic than I remember it being. I can't recommend it more, it's top tier for me.

It made me want to rewatch some other shows I've seen a long while ago like Canaan, Ergo Proxy and Angel Beats! So I'll probably take the time to do so.

Thanks to those that gave recommendations. I think I'm going to try Vinland Saga, and The Promised Neverland next for new series, I also want to check out Black Clover.

Can't tell what Higurashi is doing. They tricked people into thinking it was a remake, but turns out it's not, but also they haven't really swerved yet anything yet, either.

So I chequed out Burn the Witch and thought that it was brilliantly done.

I don't really pay attention to manga so I don't know what happened in the last major arc in Bleach, but I was surprised to see that it's actually set in the Bleach universe. I thought that tie in was a really cool concept and Studio Colorido did an amazing job overall. Not sure what's going on with it in Kubo's point of view since I think the manga only has four to five chapters, but I need more.

Just caught up with Fruits Basket. Season 2 was really good. Can't wait for the final season next year.
The OPs and EDs for the Fruits Basket Remake have been great, all of them have been absolute bangers.

Going through Gintama since it got high ratings by a lot of fans. Finished episode 150 last night and even though the fillers are a chore to get through, the arcs are really damn good. Still, three hundred episodes is starting to wear me down though.

Okay I was wrong, I thought alot of these episodes were fillers but they're actually legitimate episodes.
Hockey anime

Interesting, even more interesting that they're producing a women hockey anime. I'll definitely be giving it a go.

If I liked stuff like Avatar TLA, Legend of Korra, clone wars and rebels, is there something for me in anime ? I feel like there should be but I'm not sure where to start. I don't like to start in the middle of something, I need to watch it from the start. Is there anything on netflix that's good based on what I just said ?

I'm not big into anime, but I like the shows that you listed. There's very likely some anime out there for you, but I don't know if they'd be on Netflix.

For me, the anime I've enjoyed are: Cowboy Bebop (is available on Hulu), Trigun (Hulu), Rurouni Kenshin (Hulu), Castlevania (might not be an anime, but is available on Netflix), Dragon Ball Z, Neon Genesis Evangelion (Netflix), Blue Gender, Akira (Hulu), and probably a few others.

Of what I've listed, I'd say Dragon Ball Z is the most similar to the Avatar and Star Wars universes. Just try to find the DBZ series that has a bunch of the filler taken out.

Some others that I definitely recommend that Randy didn’t already recommend, are Demon Slayer, My Hero Academia, Attack on Titan (Hulu), One Punch Man (Netflix) and Vinland Saga (Amazon Prime) which are good new anime’s to get started on if your getting into it. If you don’t mind CGI 3D models some good series would be Ajin, Dorohedoro (Both on Netflix), and Inuyashiki (Amazon Prime) some good dark series with good action.
