I came back to watch the second and I wasn't impressed at all with this team. They better step it up or we can see a repeat of Nagano. Italians, hide the curtain rods and lamps.

Mathieu Schneider a bit of advice...don't give the puck up at the blueline, please.

I know you can't be talking about the first goal as he was checked from behind, which caused that turnover.

But still, good general advice.

Man USA looks awful there
I think its because the fourth forward...are we supposed to have two defenseman?...looks LOST when he tries to join the play or hold the puck in, we really lose stability and scramble to get back into position.

I'm not super-suprised, though. A couple mistakes, plus a couple lucky bounces and Latvia could be up by more than 1. The USA don't have their legs under them, and didn't do something that the other teams who traveled did. They need to dumb their game down a bit, they'll still get a few chances, but Latvia is very capable of pulling this out.

Wow, US looks flat, probably travel related. Hard to believe that the US can't make better scheduling to get the team in a day earlier like Canada did.

Eh I'm still learning the numbers and whose on the ice, more of a message to the whole d-corps though.

Go Latvia! :D

Seriously though, when will people stop taking wins against Germany, Latvia and Switzerland for granted? Sure, the big 7 are clearly better on paper but those three teams are good enough to pull out an upset against the best of them. That said, I have no doubts that the US will pull out a win in this one when all is said and done.

I'd prefer Connie Moreau. She'd have a better chance of finishing than Bill Guerin.

So does Kenny Wu...or better still, get Knucklepuck guy out there...Irbe is old, he can't keep up with the moving puck
