Guess they won't play Foppa very much. Save him for a later stage of the tournament.

I'm predicting a pretty tight game, 3-1 Sweden.
 
Bäckman has been brutal the whole Olympics. Poor passing, poor receptions of passes, poor positioning and poor penalties.

Yep! He's been but a shadow of his former self. I thought he could be our next reliable D-man, but he hasn't shown much lately :(

Sweden are skating soo damn slow.

Perhaps he will develop into an Aki Berg type of player. ;)
 
I would actually like to see Z centering the first line, having Sundin playing a power forward role instead. We have a lot of centers, few guys who can crash the net convincingly.

I think a lot of the poor teams are improving, so there are no guaranteed points. I think it is a very good development for the sport of hockey too. It would be great if Germany and Switzerland joined the big 7 in the next 5-10 years.

He's bitten by the swedish disease... holding on the puck instead of just shooting it. Shoot, shoot, shoot and the latvians will get torn up.

Also, Bäckman coughs up the puck AGAIN!

Yeah you're right, but the sport really is improving, just look at Latvia and the swiss now, but a hockey hype in Germany is really important.

I'm no fan of these lines at all. We need a better first line and Foppa should be on it together with Alfie.

Zetterberg is overworking a bit when he gets to a scoring chance.
 
Yes. He stepped in and shot a puck that was deflected off the goalie from close range. PÃ¥hlsson scored on the rebound.
 
Foppa has one pretty good hit, an assist, a great set-up pass that PÃ¥hlsson missed, a couple of awsome dekes that made the Latvians dizzy..

He´s working pretty hard, has backchecked hard on several occasions :amazed:

But he´s a bit rusty.

The most important thing to me, is that he remains healthy til the later stages.
