A massive challenge looms this weekend for the Abbotsford Canucks, whose 11-game winning streak is the longest in the AHL this season.

The Laval Rocket come to Abbotsford Centre tonight and Sunday, giving the Canucks a chance to match themselves against the first-overall team in the league.

Abbotsford sliced through their competition on a just-completed six-game road trip through Manitoba, San Jose, Bakersfield and San Diego, outscoring their hosts 27-12

Rest the injured players. Let them be at 1909% ready for the AHL playoffs. No way, let them aggravate their injuries.

We're top of the league. We aren't fighting for a playoff spot.

Christian Wolanin plays for Abbotsford. His mon is Quebecoise
His dad Craig won the Stanley Cup with Colorado in 95-96, after the franchise moved from Quebec.. His teammates on that team were former Habs Patrick Roy, Claude Lemieux, Sylvain Lefebvre, Kike Keane, and Stephane Fiset (later played for Montreal),

As far as I know, they haven’t won their division. First means a by in the first round. First overall means home ice in the playoffs. There’s definitely more to play for.
