I find it pretty funny how a couple weeks ago Roy and Mailloux were "too good for the AHL" and now people are pretty much calling them busts.

Also funny to trash on Perreault in his 2nd game back after missing the whole summer, training camp and the start of the season. Not that I think he's a good prospect, but he deserves a bit of slack.

They prefer to use slow players like RHP and Roy instead of the best skater on the team outside of Gignac.
It's starting to piss me off Beck was one of the few players to generate anything.
They took the wrong guy off PP1 that is for f***ing sure.
The guy draws two penalties in quick succession and you don't give him a chance 5v3
WTF gotta use ABB and Roy who did nothing all game long.
Gignac played alone tonight.

Its such a plague on the site. Prospects at all levels across all organizations have warts. Evaluating young players on a shift to shift, game at a time basis, leads to erratic and mostly bad hot takes.

You just know there had to be a Gerard Gallant angle to this. 💀

I didn’t see the replay, but it appeared that he did the old “changing his mind mid-pass routine “ which never works. Unfortunately, he also lost his balance otherwise he probably would’ve caught the guy. I was pissed but those things do happen. No one ever said Mailloux was perfect defensively. It’s a shame it was the winner though.

Exactly why I’m fed up with the “we should call him up” posters. Leave them in Laval to develop as much as possible. I feel that if you don’t make it out of camp, you should probably spend the year down there.

Good to know thanks! Hopefully he can help Laval or even Montréal. He's a good energy guy
Like a lot of players coming back after a long absence he looked great on what was probably huge adrenaline rush.
I'm not sure using him in OT was such a great idea given the circumstances.
Typically it's a good idea to wait for games two and three to see where the player is truly at.

Outside of injuries where you give someone the opportunity who has earned it in their play with the likelihood they'll return to the AHL afterward unless they force the hand so loudly during their NHL games.
