Reality: Hasn't looked great in the playoffs. Fowler was winning and is our future.
Roy had 35 points in 47 games (0.74 ppg)
Mesar had 18 points in 42 games (0.43 ppg)
I understand not liking Roy, but saying Mesar is an obvious choice over him is ignorant at best.
Mesar has a lot of work to do this summer if he doesn't want to go back to Europe.

I’m guessing, but I think Primeau needs to spend the summer with a sports psychologist. He plays fine until the pressure ramps up.
Kappy had a great 3rd period after a very quiet start...
Roy started working which seemed to help for some reason.
Mesar has been passed by many other prospects at this point. I think itt would take a miracle/crazy development for him to make it to the N. Sucks to see a first rounder get scratched in the A but that's the nature of the beast. Shit happens.
Mesar is having no impact.
The guy who could possibly replace Roy in the lineup is Luke Tuch.

Roy was quite weak this game though. I'm not sure what's going on, but in my opinion a benching is justified.

So last night, Oliver Kapanen scored the game winner in Game 1 for Laval. Also last night, his cousin, Kasperi Kapanen, scored the OT and series clinching winner for the Oilers.

He's right, this team NEVER quit, it's impressive and it's also the reason why I believe Pascal Vincent is getting an NHL position after the season.
He's a tremendous coach and our young players have grown so much this year.

Wouldn't put it past Vincent to say Primeau won game 1 so he keeps the net for game 2.

In his presser he said there were guys who played great, but it was a team win.
Now, we'll see for Game 2. But Marcotte guesses that it will be Fowler. We know Vincent said both goalies will play in this series. If Fowler is the back up in Game 2, by the time Game 3 comes around, Fowler wouldn't have played in 2 weeks because Game 3 is next Wednesday. So I could see them play him to ensure that both goalies don't sit out to be too cold.

I would not mind alternating between the goalies. As long as Fowler plays a decent amount of games and the team wins.

Absolutely nonsensical for any playoff team to sit for more than 4-5 days unless they sweep their previous opponent! That said it took both teams a couple of periods to get back to “game” shape. It’s truly a lot to ask from goaltenders and you could see it. Levi will be better Friday & Fowler is presenting as a special goaltending prospect. As I mentioned in the last series he has elite puck tracking & rebound control.
IMHO, Kapanen is a top 6 player on any AHL team, understandably it took him a minute to become acclimated.
Also, Mailloux and Reinbacher have so much innate talent that they need to simplify their game especially Mailloux. Engstrom is a wonderful skater who makes good decisions and finally I thought Trudeau made a number of sound plays.
All & all both teams will be better prepared and have more “jump” Friday.

After playing on May 1st, Rochester will have played only 2 games until May 21st. How the f*** does a professional sports league have this happen in the playoffs? That is just bush league.
