If that was true then Primeau wouldn't have come in and started the game after Fowler got a shut-out. He also wouldn't have started game 1 of these series after Fowler closed out the previous series.

There's no rhyme or reason as to who is starting and when.

That may be so but I think HuGo see it a little differently.

It’s playoffs. Every team is riding their vets unless they have standout draftees. Besides, Reinbacher, Flojak, Engstrom, etc are all playing regularly. They’re getting experience not to mention, having a winning environment in Laval only attracts good vets and coaches which helps bring along the draftees.
Playoffs are a time for winning. Most development is done in the regular season.

Again, not a fan of Pascal Vincent for ridding on his veteran players... you know players without any real future with the Habs. They get all the primary minutes, removing significant ice time from the young players.

Vincent want that AHL cup hard for his coaching jobs future at the detriment of the Habs young player development. It's pretty obvious by now.

Playing with a winning team and learning what it takes to win at the professional level is part of any player’s developmental path.

Then they gotta get rid/not qualify Primeau this summer. You can't have it be Fowler's team while Primeau is still here and we've all seen that he just isn't a fit in the Montreal market. He'll probably do well in a more low-key market like Seattle, etc. but not here. If the team does decide to stick with him on this run, hopefully they win, he shows out and his trade value increases enough to be considered a decent piece in a trade package

that's what I am hoping for, Primeau wins the Championship for Laval, raises his stock value for a nice trade this summer - there will be a lot of teams looking to take a flyer on him; lights out AHL numbers and (while dismal) NHL experience. Teams that trade for him are hoping he becomes a Tomas Vokoun or similar, and it happens all the time - goalies are a weird bunch - always a mental game.

We are going to have a bit of a shortened bench on defense. Vinny has to watch how he uses his two pairs early in the game because by period 3, he doesnt want to 18-20 minute pair on the ice. We may be tied or behind so he's going to be left with rotating two pairs.
