Laval Rocket: GDT: Game FOUR Cleveland at Laval 7PM EST

Fowler gets the job done again, the Engstrom-Reinbacher pairing with a nice bounce back game after 2 rough ones. Farrell with another good game 4 pts in this series. Mailloux with another good game in the offensive zone. I thought the Xhekaj line with Beck and Davidson was their best line, another good game from Beck who has been one of their best players in this series. Have been saying since last year that Xhekaj is one of our top prospects, if he keeps progressing, he's going to be so much fun to watch.

Rough game for Gignac, not so good for Roy despite a couple plays.
Not an easy task...but Gignac is just way too many steps behind. And Roy is....Roy. Prediction...won't be here next year.

Stéphane Leroux saying how Mailloux was not used on the PP in the regular season but went back on the PP in these playoffs, on the first waive.

Positive words for Reinbacher. Bruno Gervais says he's calm, but his decision making is punctuated by hesitation. About once per game, seems to have these types of brain cramps and when it happens, loses track of opposition players getting behind him. However, he is showing good flashes. Have to bear in mind that he didn`t get a lot of regular season games to work on these things and that probably explains where he`s at.

Sounded to me that he's going to need more reps in Laval but who knows.

I agree with Bruno Gervais. Good observation by him and what I noticed as well. He has good fundamentals, but you can see he's tentative and will have trouble following the play. It makes sense considering the injury and the lack of reps. More time in Laval would be good for his development, but Reinbacher isn't far from making the NHL.

I was impressed with Mailloux tonight. These playoffs have been a great step forward for him.

I think the organization is okay with this and knowingly put Vincent into place because none of those guys that you mentioned there, none of those guys will make it...
Vincent is running 4 lines almost equal time. He can get the best of players like Dauphin, Trudeau and ABB. He's not Bowman 2.0 but not that far. His team is playing a system that works.

One thing I noticed when Mailloux was up is that MSL really seemed to like him.
He played a mistake free game tonight and was lethal on the PP.
Actually...no. He should of closed the gap before the shot.

First best action is to get his stick on the puck before it's shot, but he didn't react fast enough to close the gap to do that.

He also went head hunting on the opposite side which drew him way out of position. Same thing X did. That should never happen. He needs to learn that the prey comes to him and should be patient, instead of chasing hits.

The rest of his game was very good to great.

What I like about RB's game is when he battles along the board and needs to ring a puck around, he puts the right weight on it and gets it to the right spot. He's aware which guy he needs to cover. He's not making tons of turnovers deep in the defensive zone.

I won't attack the low hanging fruits that don't do those things. I understand that Gervais is critical because the expectations from RB are so much higher than the others.

Reinbacher has high IQ and you can see it with the way he scans the ice. Once the timing is back and more consistent, he'll be really good, like he was his first few games back.

Loved the idea floated by one of the AC panelists -- why not hold Rocket playoff games at the Bell Centre? They all agreed that Bell Centre games would probably sell out.

No way to get tickets at Place Bell right now so why not.
What do you mean no way to get tickets ?... they are not even on sale right now... How can people buy them in advance if we don't even have the schedule for next round yet ? Am I missing something here ?

Mailloux has the physicality and size to make a statement in the playoffs. I wonder how far he might be from the NHL. A lot of posters seem to think that he should be used in a trade but I don't know.

You're right but demand is going to be through the roof. I'm not quite sure who gets priority or how the ticket distribution works but point is they could probably fill the Bell Centre, so more fans would get a realistic shot at attending.

I don't know, just wait in line as soon as the online tickets website is open.
First come first serve as usual. Just don't wait 2 days later lol.

Cleaning up his aggressive mistakes. He's as good as Math offensively and can play defensive well but he makes mistakes that shouldn't happen.

I referenced a move he made to hit someone on the other side just like X did. THAT shouldn't happen and if he cleans up those lapses, he's NHL ready.

The series vs Rochester is best of 5, only the conference finals and calder finals are 7 game series. Laval and Rochester are the only teams that have advanced but starting the series a week from now is just bush league as it means Rochester will have 13 days off. Although that can be a bad thing in the playoffs but 2 weeks in between series is crazy.

okay game, nothing fancy, with some hesitation in his decision making.
He looks kind of rusty to me. He just needs more ice time at this point to make up for all his loss time. Was expecting a bit more tbh.

Ok thanks for the report !

That’s what I think too… he’s not making the Habs next year. Let the kid play in the A a full year. I wouldnt mind Mailloux as 3rd RD if he has a good camp.
