Laval Rocket: GDT: Game FOUR Cleveland at Laval 7PM EST

Interesting post-game comments. So like the Habs, the Rocket are loaded in the youth department (they're one of the youngest teams in the league). Twelve players on the team, going through their first playoff experience.
They have an Antichambre just for the Rockets and I like it, they don't do it that often. AHL is slower than NHL but I liked what I saw from the Rockets. I focussed on Reinbacher and Mailloux this game. They are improving and not far from NHL.

Who cares about Cayden Primeau.

Like I said, AHL is supposed to be a developmental league.
Your best prospects should be getting all the primary minutes to develop their skills and get that experience needed for the NHL...

Fowler has a future with the Habs, not Primeau so he sits as long as it takes no questions asked... as it should be.

It should be the same for Reinbacher, Mailloux, Kapanen, Xhekaj and Beck... but Vincent is prioritizing Barre-Boulet, Dauphin, Simonneau, Condotta, Roy, Farrell, Trudeau, Lindstrom, etc. ... I don't like what I'm seeing...

It's like Pascal Vincent is prioritizing his own AHL record and will try to win it with the AHL Veterans so that he has a better chance to get a call from an NHL team...

He probably doesn't care if Reinbacher, Kapanen, Xhekaj and Beck aren't playing that much... he won't return with the Rockets if they win the AHL Cup and that's the only thing that matter to him at this point.

I guess that's the downside of hiring a veteran Coach for your AHL team that prioritize winning instead of developing your bluechip prospects.
BINGO

I never thought much of Vinny. The team is winning because it's loaded, not because Vinny is Bowman V2.

FloJack with Habs next season. Lol... St Louis' head will explode :D

Yeah... I really hope him, Mallioux and RB make it to the Habs roster. There should be some sports. And it's their sports to lose. Too bad very little coming in terms of offense. Hughes will have to get forwards on the open market.
MSL loves good positioning and safe plays. That was RB tonight. Mailloux' better offensively and will need to bring all his bells and whistles at camp.

Stéphane Leroux saying how Mailloux was not used on the PP in the regular season but went back on the PP in these playoffs, on the first waive.

Positive words for Reinbacher. Bruno Gervais says he's calm, but his decision making is punctuated by hesitation. About once per game, seems to have these types of brain cramps and when it happens, loses track of opposition players getting behind him. However, he is showing good flashes. Have to bear in mind that he didn`t get a lot of regular season games to work on these things and that probably explains where he`s at.

Sounded to me that he's going to need more reps in Laval but who knows.

"MSL loves good positioning and safe plays"... Mike Matheson says Hello :D

Yeah, if Savard is the only vacancy on D after this summer, than the competition will be stiff between X, Struble, Mallioux and RB. BUt also, let's hope the Hughes does manage to get another Carrier in the summer. Only bigger. And a lot meaner.

I think you're exaggerating.

Mailloux, Kappanen, Roy, Reinbacher, Beck, Xhekaj, Davidson, all got significant ice time.

Guys like Condotta and Lindstrom could also see NHL ice time if there are a significant amount of injuries, which is a regular occurrence for the Habs.

Well he doesn't make many brain cramps compared to others in this series. Notably Trudeau and Engstrom who take more risks but sometimes get burnt.

All MSL rules don't apply to Matheson. I could write a thesis on why.

I know Mailloux is in every trade proposal but I don't know, I wouldn't mind seeing him with the club for an extended period of time unless he can help in a package to land a big fish.

Big frame, big shot, 22yo RD , mean streak, might regret trading him unless we get a really good return.

I think the organization is okay with this and knowingly put Vincent into place because none of those guys that you mentioned there, none of those guys will make it...

That's not true. Vinny was punishing Mailman until the last 20-25 games. That was costing the team more then Mailman. Then he started to put him on the first units for PK and PP. You can track that from my game posts.

I track if R or M is playing on the specialty units because it tells me what Vinny thinks of the player.

Bruno Gervais was answering a question by François Gagnon as to whether Reinbacher could make the team out of camp. He wasn`t putting him down relative to other D on the team. It appeared to me that outside of mental lapses, Reinbacher`s lack of reps due to missing so many regular season games (he got into 10 games or so) appears to be what may limit his chances to graduate right off the bat.

Hopefully, Reinbacher works hard in the off season and improves his chances.

Fowler gets the job done again, the Engstrom-Reinbacher pairing with a nice bounce back game after 2 rough ones. Farrell with another good game 4 pts in this series. Mailloux with another good game in the offensive zone. I thought the Xhekaj line with Beck and Davidson was their best line, another good game from Beck who has been one of their best players in this series. Have been saying since last year that Xhekaj is one of our top prospects, if he keeps progressing, he's going to be so much fun to watch.

Rough game for Gignac, not so good for Roy despite a couple plays.

Hopefully Reinbacher plays and wins 4 rounds of playoff hockey.

I really like the way RB plays but I have two concerns. I see it less as a question of reps and more if can he also play that same way against NHLers? And obviously can he stay healthy?

I think he'd love Florian Xhekaj personally. He's a responsible, smart player like Dvorak, but he also plays the front of the net, has a great shot, has good pace and understands offense. He just happens to be a big and mean SOB too.
