Thing is this....he's a top 5 pick. Expectations comes from being a fine 2-way player at that spot. He's safe. Reliable. Good 1 on 1. He could become at best Slavvin. But Slavin, nobody was enticed by him at the draft. So hopefully we'll learn to like him as his career progresses. But he's never going to jump at you that much. He will win more Jacques Beauchamp trophies than Molson Cups...

He’s a Chris Philips to me. But I can see what you mean.

He will be valuable, something we will enjoy for 10+ seasons. A steady force, composed, physical when needed, and a perfect complement to a very offensive D partner. He will be the go-to on the PK, when you need a reliable dude with 2 mins left leading by a goal. Coaches will love this guy.

Xhekaj has more upside but needs more time.

We actually lack teeth from the blueline in terms of shooting ability. Hutson is only gonna shoot for tips and through traffic. Xhekaj has a bomb but has no accuracy. Reinbacher has a good shot but it's not lethal. Mailloux's cannon of a slapper and heavy wrister is an element that teams would have to concern themself with.. always good to have that weapon especially 6 on 5.

My sentiments as well. You saw in the playoffs, Hutson was quarterbacking the power play and was just passing back and forth with caufield., when a boomer slapshot was needed. You have to have a guy that can really crank it back there. I think they should play Mailloux next season. They should really give him a chance all year and leave reinbacher down for another year. He's hardly played and needs a full season in laval. Geez mailloux has played allstar , scored well, he's big with a big shot and seems to be considered a "player" in the AHL. He deserves a good shot. You'll know after a year what you have. There's no need to rush Reinbacher. He's not ready if your honest.

Fowler's rebounds control is quite something, the puck glues on him,relax, poised, in total control. Reinbacher is just a big strong and powerful kid, will be a perfect partner to Hutson down the road. Liked Mailloux so far tonight, maybe we have 2 RHDs cracking the team next year.

What RB looks like is a bigger version of Carrier with better offense. He’s never going to be physical like Guhle or Xhekaj. But he’s 100% an MSL player. Despite Xhekaj being tougher and better offensively, MSL just loves the fact Struble is a bit more responsible offensively.

Finally able to get to a screen to watch this. Had been listening on the radio. The BPM broadcasters were very complimentary about Mailloux.

Could it be he’s one of those players that raises his game in the playoffs?
