Laval Rocket: GDT: Game FOUR Cleveland at Laval 7PM EST

Vincent is obviously not confirming who his starter is. He says it's the playoffs.

When asked about all the NHL coach openings, Vincent says his priority is ensuring his team is ready to compete in the playoffs. If an NHL team wants to approach him, they'll need to do it when he's done with the AHL Playoffs.

After the playoffs, they should put a hood on his head, throw him in a van and keep him in Northern Quebec somewhere until next season.

Mailloux, Engstrom, Tuch, Xhekaj, Reinbacher, Beck, Kapanen, Davidson also need to develop.
3 out of those I'd give a realistic chance of playing with the big club, Beck... Depends on what we do this off-season.

The future is now old man

The 4th line should be the 2nd line, how the f*** does Beck's play this series earn him a 4th line spot when RHP and Gignac haven't done much of anything in this series.

I don't get why they keep going with Trudeau Mailloux, the 2 dumbest D on the team, why would you put them together? Tough call on Engstrom Reinbacher as they have mostly been really good together but the last 2 games have gone from bad to worse. I honestly don't know what I would do there, as I can see why they would split them up or why you would keep them together as they have shown they can do well together but of course the sample size is small. Either way I think it's a tough decision.

Fowler over Primeau is what I would do, it doesn't matter that Primeau is the one that got you here, Fowler has just been too good to sit. I would have just gone with Fowler last game but I can understand wanting to get Primeau a game after sitting so long and you had a nice cushion going home with a 2-0 lead in a best of 5. But now you need to win as you don't want a game 5.

If 3 make it then it's worth having a long playoff run.
In 2007 on the Calder Cup winning team only Price, Lapierre, Chipchura, O'Byrne made it, all of them had over 300 NHL games so your point is valid that only a few will make it.
Don't get me wrong I have zero issue playing Fowler other than Primeau has been the best AHL goalie since January, that's significant.

The one issue I have with Vincent right now is having 5 AHL vets in the top 6 while two 24 goal scorers are on the 4th line.

How has Fowler been too good to sit? They didn't give up a lot of scoring chances in the games he played.

Vincent has high praise for Fowler. For the non-French speaking folks:

He says that Fowler has the personality made for the big stage. He's not impressed by all the cameras, the big crowds, and the noise. He's calm and poised. He can also be a leader. He comes to the rink early and you get the sense he's been here all year. He knows there's a lot of expectations placed on him.

He reads the game well. He positions himself to make the save. It's impressive. He's able to get the offense going from his net. It's big when a goalie can do that. He's not an important prospect for the Habs for nothing.

The Primeau deserved to play game 3 argument because it's time to win and not worry about development doesn't really apply when a guy gets 2 games and wins both of them.

Totally different case if he went 1-1

Tell that to an entire locker room of professional players that Fowler's development is all that matters. These guys deserve a chance at success. Look, if Fowler deserves the net then fine, do it. If not, you play the players who give you the best shot.
Fowler has two wins, including a shut out... Primeau... has... ummmm, hmm.

Why aren't our prospects in the top 6.

Is it a development league or not
That's a great point but you can't deny that by loading up the vets with top 6 minutes it has allowed the prospects to develop without added pressure. I do think that Xhekaj and Davidson both of whom scored 24 goals each should get more ice time, same with Beck.

You can't come back with Primeau again because if he loses it's 2-2 and now you don't have any other choice but to give the seat to your rookie for game 5. So you let Fowler goal game 4. If he loses, you give Primeau (the vet) the onus to trying to close the series.

It would've been much cleaner if they just kept Fowler in game 3. But they didn't now they gotta play Fowler tonight and if they don't win, have a bigger philosophical question for who starts game 5.

Regardless of the order that the lines appear in the lineup card, it seems to me that RHP-Condotta-Simoneau is the de facto fourth line. They have combined for a total of 15 regular season goals and feature two wingers who, while fiesty, are significantly undersized.

Florian centering Davidson and Beck is the real line number two, totalling 63 goals while being hardnosed and defensively responsible. We'll see if their ice time tonight reflects that.

Florian, Davidson, Beck could be an amazing 4th line in the NHL in 1-2 years, I like building chemistry with them now
