Not true. Leafs were a pretty good team in the late 70s (the Lanny McDonald goal against the Islanders who were primed to be a dynasty was just before they got bounced by the Habs). In my time as a Leafs fan, it's always been the same story: every time they've been contenders, they always run into a team just a little better. Hoping for something different this year.

I'm sure Leafs management has scouted FLA extensively. If Tkchuck is injured, FLA will be in trouble - they are going to need their star players to get past the leafs.

Yeah Im pretty sure both teams have more than scouted each other and are familiar with each other considering they play in the same division and have met each other before many many times.
