Go look at Jokic talk about playing the Heat on YouTube, when he says “I play in Serbia!” That’s what it’s like. Olympiakos and Panathinaikos are 2 of the top 5 teams outside the NBA.
Yeah there was an incident when there were flares thrown towards the court, ( i think that was in Greece) and another incident when the riot police were brought in, in Turkey.....Those may have been Champions League and domestic games i think......Very common to see coaches chew out their players on camera too....

Zalgiris another great atmosphere too.....

I am a Habs fan, but I've always been a Leafs fan, too. Born and raised in Toronto.

I'm a Habs fan, a Leafs fan and a Red Wings fan, in that order. It was much easier to root for Toronto and Detroit when they were Western Conference teams.

Since they moved to the East, it was much tougher and I largely sort of gave up on Detroit.

For me, there's never really been a rivalry wth the Leafs, becuase until the 2021 playoffs, the two teams had never played a game that really mattered in my entire life time. I don't hate the Leafs, I don't really see them as a rival. I hate the Bruins. They are easily the biggest "rival" to the Habs for me.
Never really got into the hatred between Montreal and Toronto either......When i was a kid in the 80's they would play i think 3 times a year usually Sat HNIC games....It was a showcase event and it created a buzz for sure but the teams were in different conferences and never had anything to do with eachother in an important spot (the last game of 2007 and 2021 came decades later)

Love how all people have are nostrils and balding jokes about Matthews. If that's all you got left, pretty weak sauce, 2017 called and wants their weak jokes back.

After watching way too much hockey during the past weeks, one of the things that stood out to me was how utterly joyless the journey looks for Toronto. Even after they won the series there was no celebration. Very few smiles.

I get that this is a job. I get that they're under enormous pressure to succeed in the post season. I get that the media is way over the top in how they cover the team. But even taking those things into account, a victorious series should bring some outward happiness. It's too bad that playing in what should be a great place to play pro hockey brings so little happiness to the players who play there.

Oh but there's plenty more left

Imagine this guy rallying the troops ... "To HELL,, AND BACK!"

FYI Thachuk hasn’t played much in the first round. Hell be out there more for the power play.
Even better for the leafs if he's off the ice.

I'm sure Leafs management has scouted FLA extensively. If Tkchuck is injured, FLA will be in trouble - they are going to need their star players to get past the leafs.

I just realized the leafs are the biggest underdog’s in the entire league right now. (According to betting lines)

LETS f***ING GO!

The boys do great when they’re overlooked. Starting to feel better and better about this series the closer we get to puck drop
Honestly, I would not be surprised if any of the remaining 8 teams went to the finals. I think they are all worthy

Because he will eat shit going for a hit and end up injured…

You're probably right. Both Clifford and Simmonds took unbelievably dumb penalties when they got into the lineup in the playoffs against Tampa in the the first series a few years ago. I doubt the team goes that direction again, the adrenaline is just too high in that situation and dumb things happen.

Pretty downtrodden bunch, I'd say.
