Are there any fans that want this?Unbelievable that there are any fans left that...
- Want to continue down this path.
- Want Lou to be the one to lead them down it.

This team is straight booty.
Duclair or not, Barzal/Dobson/Holmstrom/Wahlstrom have all been non-exisitent. All 1st rounders shitting the bed.
For a guy getting 21 mins on average a game, getting paid $9M, he’s a whopping 205th in the NHL in scoring with 3 PPP, he certainly doesn’t belong in that category - that’s god awful return from such a player. But, hey, keep building around him Isles, it’s going great.Barzal does not belong in the same category as Dobson, Holmstrom and Wahlstrom. He’s the only offensive player out there generating anything
Duke Bure wasn’t a needle mover and sure as heck can’t be considered a reason this team is lifeless and lame. This team is straight booty.

Oh, don’t get me wrong - barzal’s been a disappointment for sure; but there are degrees of disappointing, and he’s nowhere near the degree of the others mentioned. It is staggering to me that anyone can watch this team and think a single other forward on this team is more of a net positive for this team than Barzal. For a guy getting 21 mins on average a game, getting paid $9M, he’s a whopping 205th in the NHL in scoring with 3 PPP, he certainly doesn’t belong in that category - that’s god awful return from such a player. I’ve been a proponent of a significant change for a while as well, but I certainly don’t blame people who don’t necessarily want to blow up a playoff team, even if it was clear that their time had passed. I would think that missing the playoffs by a significant margin will be the push that is needed. I can’t imagine the owners, who’ve shown zero interest in questioning Lou, will fire Lou before the end of this season, and even then I’m not convinced.Put out a very pro "fire Lou ASAP" post on the "speculation/trade talk" thread and I'll bet you'll get a reply or two either wanting to "give the team more time," but probably twist it into an "anti-rebuild" argument.
However most notably you won't get as much support for that notion as you should. I've wanted Lou gone for years (basically ever since Trotz left) and I was lambasted by a bunch of cats on these boards. It's quieted because what was obvious to me then is staring everyone in the face now, and it's harder to run from.
Yet still a few will try.

why once the novelty of this new arena wears off attendance is going to be even more dreadful than the dark days of the Coliseum, I drove for the first time on Saturday and what a disaster, 45 minutes sitting in congestion/traffic each way, have to wait in line for a bus to take me closer to the arena and same after the game but a longer wait time, and obviously similar thing if you take mass transit, who is going to want to do this when the Islanders are mediocre or worse and when the weather is significantly colder?Fun getting to sitting in 40 minutes of southern state parkway roadwork traffic following that disaster.
We have 23 GF this season, which should put us last in the league after the standings update.
