The Isles should protest this game. This is the most disgraceful officiated game I have ever seen. The refs have legit decided the outcome of this game with two egregiously bad calls and that should be investigated. Obviously it should have been challenged but I am sure Roy decided not to because the refs are clearly against them and never would have changed the call.

Bad calls, no doubt. But there is no fix in for the Stars to win and Isles to lose. 😆

This whole site has gone soft. I lost my like button privileges for nothing. I got kicked out of 4 nations thread for nothing. I had my avatar erased when it was nothing offense. The president in a USA hockey jersey.

We’re in soft times.
mine are gone too but I definitely said some super inflammatory things lmao. do they ever come back or am I just cooked

a joke if Roy
Roy should be fired on the spot for not challenging that call. I’ve never wanted to break my tv so bad
mind boggling why he didn't try, with 4 minutes left the odds of getting another goal are small, and there was probably a decent chance that call is overturned

You have two goals against on a non existent "attempt to injure" match penalty hit to the chest and then a tying goal waved off for the defenseman impeding his own goalie. A professional sports game should not have the outcome determined by referees making up invisible calls. This happens to the Isles far too often but this tonight was blatant. I don't even know how the league could defend the performance of these refs tonight.

I can’t even believe it. Not only was it not goalie interference but they aren’t scoring with the empty net anyway so just take the chance. I’m at a loss for words

Roy didn’t challenge them because it either

1. Was a valid interference penalty in his eyes

Or.

2. Was questionable or wasn’t worth the risk.

But your unhinged angle is fun too.

The way I saw it, the initial contact with the goalie wasn’t interference. If he stops there I think he’s good

But Engvall continued backwards and ended up midway in the crease, and that’s where I think it becomes problematic

If you care about another "one and done" playoff appearance more than you care about getting this organization out the black hole of perpetual mediocrity,, then yes, this was a poorly officiated game and a tough loss. On the other hand, if you have had enough of the black hole, then this was another good L that will hopefully contribute to forcing Lou's (and Malkin's) hand once and for all.

Every loss is a step closer to a better pick. This team isn’t making the playoffs. We need some elite prospects.

The playoffs couldn’t start soon enough; after the 4Nations I’m jacked for some competitive hockey.

Regardless, losing Barzal was the last straw. If this team were on average 3 years younger I’d be fine running it back since I think this team is talented when healthy.

But they ain’t, so it’s time to face facts. This core is not good enough to risk losing assets for nothing

Speaking of those 3 youngsters, Dallas fans apparently asked about Dobson in that thread. I kept pushing Johnston which seemed to not be received well. One somehow thought J-Rob was a suitable replacement for Johnston. That would be like replacing Horvat with Barzal in a trade in Islanders terms.
Thanks for the response. Heiskenen and Dobson would be a solid pairing no doubt if ND can return to form. I would prefer he returns to form as an islander. Robertson would be tempting as he is a goal scorer as tonight proves. His skating isn't the best, but he can find the back of the net.
