That trade may end up being very good for the Isles, who got Romanov and the pick that turned into Isaiah George for their first rounder. Now, that first rounder turned into Frank Nazar for Chicago, who looks to be a pretty decent forward, but I think I’d take Romanov and George any day.

The jury might still be out on this deal until we see how Nazar develops at the NHL level , but with the emergence of George, it certainly helps tilt it back in our favour.
At the time of the deal , I felt it was a ok deal. Would have preferred an earlier pick than 4th but Georges emergence as a good young defender negates that concern. I know a lot of fans hated to see Romanov go and Dach hasn’t made it better for them

Romy was great last night. Re ESPN, Brendan is the best, but Bucci's style is not really play by play; it's more like you're hanging with a buddy who talks about the game while chatting you up about other stuff. Acquired taste. I didn't like his style at first, but now have come to appreciate it.

Buccigross is awful. He’s chasing the play bc he’s always trying to come up with some shtick way of saying something. ESPN has perfected pushing unqualified people into play-by-play and commentating for cheap.

Buccigross is a modestly paid company man so that’s why he’s there.

I disliked the Duclair signing from the outset; he’s been in this league long enough that everyone should know the type of player he is - namely, the type you don’t sign long term or for a decent amount of cash. The Duclair and Engvall contracts are Lou’s worst, I think.

Certainly has to be a reason, but for now he is playing with that bad groin and doing what he can....sucks, but will give him a pass this year. You could tell when it happened it was one hell of a groin pull and that will take more than a few months to get to 100%

He’s not a very good player. He gets goals and points bc he’s out of position defensively a fair amount, which is the reason he gets dumped by teams.

The isles were desperate for skating, goal scoring, and the ongoing cure all for the figure skater.

He's an awful announcer. But he loves the game and is a great hockey personality in a world where there really isn't any.

He's there for the casual fan who's like "hey, I know that guy" and is susceptible to the shticky lingo.

Agreed he does, but it’s a rough listen when he’s there.

I remember he called a Calgary playoff game and it was just really bad during what is a premier time of the game.

In a 32 team league, it's not hard to be too good for a top 3 pick. To get a top 3 pick you almost have to be trying to stink enough to get a top 3 pick.
