Nice win. With all the flawed teams ahead of the Isles I gotta believe Lou still thinks Isles can make the playoffs. I still think the most likely scenario is no trades and Nelson and Palms walk in the offseason. Perhaps a few more injuries could change things.

This would be Lou’s worst course of action. The roster needs a re-something. Taking a step back this year and missing the playoffs is the route to take.

I’ll offer another perspective. I’ve stopped looking at players approaching free agency as players. They’ve become simply a dollar value. Sure I like Nelson and Palmeri and if they get traded at the deadline it’s ok and they won’t bring a lot or even need to. And if they stay and move on this summer they don’t actually leave for nothing. We get the dollar value of either this years salaries or what they would sign for next year. You really can’t lose.

Unless of course Lou makes a terrible new contract deal
