I hated the hire before it was made. Even the idea of turning a (according to Lou) Cup contender over to a rookie coach is insanity on its face.

Every moment Lane stays Lou isn't doing his job correctly and this team isn't playing to its potential.

I remain indifferent on Lane. I think he did some impressive things as coach such as getting this team in the playoffs last year with Pelech or Barzal for half the season. He was able to get the team playing well without multiple defensemen.

All this being said I still think Lambert has the most talented team of the Lou era. If this team cannot go on a deep run it is something to do with the coaching. There is too much talent on the team to have multiple less than one minute meltdowns.
