because we are SOFT!!Sheeeeeeeeeeesh.... Too bad nothing will happen to Domi
I sincerely hope you’re right on Nelson, I do, but a lot depends on how he plays the rest of the way, where he’s willing to waive to go to, and who else is on the market. Last year three first rounders were moved at the trade deadline - for Guentzel, Hertl and Henrique. Nelson’s probably in a similar class to Hertl and Henrique, so there is hope. But his recent play is certainly driving down his value. If his next 20 games are similar to his past 20 games, there’s no way there are 5 teams, let alone 1 or 2 willing to give up a first for him.Nelson is the top UFA free agent center in the market, there will be five teams at least that will give a first rounder for him. He also scores in playoffs, plays in all situations. He has completely stopped scoring but isles will still get value for him especially at a 3 million cap hit. Palmieri too, maybe it’s a 2nd and 5th but again a guy who plays hard and scores in playoffs for a 2.5 cap hit. I also think they’d get a couple picks for Pageau if they retain salary. Lee is interesting, trade him and it’s a complete leadership retool but this is an ode to Lou in that it won’t be handled like Drury handled Trouba. They could approach him and see if he is interested if there is team out there that wants him and can win this year or next.
I mean I thought he was off to good start and then he got hurt. I thought tonight was his best game since he came back. He’s not same guy he was but if he can be guy he was at start of year he can still be a 2nd pair guy.
I agree 100% with the sentiment but please, enough with the "players have lost interest" nonsense. The players just aren't good enough, that's it. It is no more complicated than that. The narrative that this is a good team that just needs to try harder and be more engaged is exactly the one Lou uses to justify his inaction. The ownership should be embrassed!! How do they let this continue?? From Lou, to Roy to the f***ing special team coaches. Why isn't someone getting axed!!!!
The players obviously have lost interest, want out and/or just ran out of answers. This club needs an overhaul.
I'm not saying that we have such talented players they are just mailing it. What I'm saying is, you can see by the way certain guys are playing, how when you see their faces they seem disinterested or completely frustrated. That's what I mean.I agree 100% with the sentiment but please, enough with the "players have lost interest" nonsense. The players just aren't good enough, that's it. I'm sure they are frustrated but they are not disinterested. Honestly, did that look like a disinterested team out there tonight or did it look like one that doesn't have the horses?I'm not saying that we have such talented players they are just mailing it. it's a trickle down effect in the locker room. Nelson and Parms probably know they are gone by the TDL. If you don't think they read the papers or internet you are foolish. They know everyone is killing them daily. I think Roy to be honest lost this team alredy.
And this is 100% on Lou and Ownership....let's be clear about that.
Really, I watched the game too. Did you see Brazal facial expressions througout the game? Did you see Nelson hustle or look like he gave a shit? Even Parms, he's not engaged like he was earlier in the season. Did you see anyone engaged at all? Guys to me are shutting down, they see the writing on the wall whether it's they know they will be traded or more so that this season is already in the trash. Again, I'm going to say that this has something to do with Roy and the entire coaching staff. I'm telling you, the players aren't buying with Roy is selling!!!I'm sure they are frustrated but they are not disinterested. Honestly, did that look like a disinterested team out there tonight or did it look like one that doesn't have the horses?
Roy’s guy runs that. Lou’s guys are in charge of the PK and PP. A lot of fans here want to throw out the baby with the bathwater.Hey guys were the best face off team in the NHL though!
Insane that they’re not last in the league with those numbersMust get better.
bc it's country club. just ask CaseyIsles are in ove for the worst pk in history. 7th worst pp in history. My goodness. How are people not fired…
So we’ve got that going for usWin or lose, I don’t care. But at a minimum, keep 91 off the scoresheet.
Is it my connection or is HF really slow for everyone?
Do you mean the website or the posters?Only the Isles Board is slow … The rest of the site is normal speed or faster
The draft party at UBS when we draft Hagens is gonna be electric
My team the Avs would like Nelson. And to a certain extent Leafs and canucks.I sincerely hope you’re right on Nelson, I do, but a lot depends on how he plays the rest of the way, where he’s willing to waive to go to, and who else is on the market. Again, I agree with the sentiment, 100%. I just will never buy that the reason we are where we are is because of lack of player effort. It's lack of player talent and yes, for sure, poor coaching and poor roster construction. Some of the pieces individually aren't terrible but it's clearly not a good mix. And yes, they are frustrated and I'm sure that impacts their game in a negative way but it isn't some kind overt lack of effort. And again, when coaches and GMs throw that stuff out there, as a general rule, it is to cover their own asses. You know who was an absolute pro at it? BT.Really, I watched the game too. Honestly, let's just think about this. Do you think our roster is better than it was last year? You can't tell me although out talent overall is bad, we did bring in Duclair and Tsyplakov.
Yes, our talent is less than most other teams, but last year under Lambert, we finished 3rd in the Metro with 94 pts. I agree, we got a year older, but to me this screams mgmt and coaching to regress this much in less than a year?
This season can't end fast enough. I want this to continue as I mentioned before. We need to bottom out and crash hard! Hope we break all the most embarrassing records in the league. Need to become the joke of the league to wake Ownership.
We currently have the 5th worst record in the league. Let's continue the tank and hope for a chance at Hagen.
Hell, at this point even Hagens may be thinking, "I don't want to play for that old coot" and his agent may be telling him that, despite his ties to the area and team, he might want to consider an organization that knows what it is doing."You are what your record says you are"- Lou
Well on the morning of January 3rd I'm seeing them as having the 5th worst record in the league. Sell everything and tank for Hagens.
