They explained this a bit between periods. It was a delayed offside. If you watch the replay, 55's skates are on the ice when the puck is dumped in, but he gets off the ice before another Penguin fully enters the zone.
But one of his skates was still on the ice.

I guess he got the “in the neighborhood of the bench” ruling.

barely squeaked past two of the worst teams in the league and lost to a playoff team... not exactly indicative of much
Yet, they lost to two non-playoff teams scoring one goal in the process (a goal when down by 2) and earning zero points with a full lineup.

George looked good and outplayed Cholo and Hutton
Did Cholowski get hurt by any chance? Because I see:

George TOI = 15:41;
Cholowski TOI = 8:00.

If he wasn't hurting, it doesn't bode well for him that a kid playing his first NHL game earned almost twice the minutes.

Yet, they beat the Avs and the Devils before that, scoring 10 goals over those two games.See? Other people can cherry pick stats too.

How about this - the isles are shooting 10.1% over the last three games (around league average). They shot 6.4% before that. Maybe that has something to do with the extra goals? Do you think Mat Barzal responsible for the finishing of the entire team, even when he isn't on the ice?

No he was just bad. Trying not to overreact too much to one game, but Roy seems fine to see a guy for a game and send him back down, a la Gauthier/Bolduc. M

My guess is that when the left side is fully healthy, Cholowski stays up as the 7th defender... but if someone gets injured, George comes up to play. That way he can still get games in at BPT

Ah. So he got off the ice to the bench, clearing the zone, before any other Pitt player entered the zone

No he just looked bad. For a supposed offensive defenseman he fumbles the puck and didn’t pass well.
