Puck had no eyes, nothing to get excited about this game. Can we sign Reid Gardiner from Liiga's Karpat, he could bury those chances. Now that Barzal & Duclair are out, I'm out. I have better things to do. Make a trade, please. And dump Lou.

I think the game turned against the Isles when Horvat got robbed by Shesterkin early in the third, shortly after which Enstrom scored on a fluke shot at 5:18, culminated by Roy pulling Sorokin with under 4 minutes left in regulation sealed the Isles' fate today, as Panarin scored the empty netter with 3:23 left.

For a “normal” (non-Lou) team, getting good play from soon to be UFAs like Nelson and Palmieri is pretty promising for trade value.
Sell high on both of them.

Reset, rerack, reload, whatever. Bring Hagens Home.

Dobson's demise from highly promising creative defence man to stumblebum is bizarre.
For most of last season he looked great. Then he dropped right off.
This season he's been awful.
His ability to set up offence has disappeared.
Doing nothing on PP and his point shots are innocuous, almost always straight along ice.
Fumbling puck regularly and passing straight to opposition too often.
Baffling regression.
I guess Tommy Albelin isn’t the answer either.

I won't even get my hopes up for this. With the way the new lottery worked they probably wouldn't get him if they were in last place which they won't be.
#NHLrigged. Our owners, with a shiny new building and struggling attendance numbers tap Bettman for the 1 overall bringing home life long Islanders fan James Hagens

The top few guys in this draft look very good, but at the end of the day it doesn’t matter who you draft if you don’t develop them properly.

This is true, one magic bean of a prospect will not change the immediate team but having a clear vision towards the future and getting assets while also improving draft lottery odds would help immensely.

Only a few more weeks till we have a thread saying to play the kids.

Watched the condensed game on NHL app because I won’t invest the time right now.

Not sure what is going on with Dobson. Never really impressed with his defensive game, but he is not playing like the #1 everyone was hoping he would be. Hope management is not interested in doling out big money for this current version.

Really lost an opportunity during the summer of Mayfield/Engvall to jump start a rebuild/re-vision. I get loyalty and I know the injuries are a big deal, but I was exceedingly disappointed to see Martin back.

Will be interesting to see how this year pans out.

Injuries certainly have shaped a gloomy outlook going forward but this is a time where our GM needs to earn his paycheque and get his team & coach a reason to keep pushing forward without selling the farm. He needs to get creative

GM Lou has to go. He swung and missed on Wahlstrom. Gave Engvall an abhorrent contract. The coach wants none of what the GM is forcing upon him. Jefferies deserved the call up way ahead of Engvall but Jefferies doesn’t have 6 years 18 million contract. Maggio for that matter deserves a call up much more than Fasching. Team did. the best they could but when 25% of your starting lineup is down and you’re a slightly above mediocre team to begin with there is only so much so you can do.
