Gaudreau gonna be one of those "50% retained" guys because the skill is there, the thing with CBJ is that the money isnt there. So it might be a while, and when it takes "a while" lets say 3-4seasons his value tanks soooo low that he might even be a free assett with half salary eaten by Columbus, now if thats not funny i dont know what is.

Reality is a bit different though, Columbus usually spends to the cap.
I don't think Buffalo needs a Gaudreau type of forward. They have plenty of skill. They need some 2 way starch. If it was a player from Columbus Boone Jenner would be what they need. Guys like Coleman, Hyman ect. These types would make tons of sense for them. Even a Faksa type could make sense.
