Maybe that's the problem. He's just not good. I get the impression he's not even watching the game. It sounds more like an Ai random hockey talk generator.

I think he's a little contrarian. Tries a bit too hard to give benefit of the doubt to the away team. My biggest gripe with him is straight up missing stuff.

WRT sportsnet crews...H. Singh and John Garrett are light years ahead of Bartlett and Galley, and its no contest. Galley's "colour commentary" is both repetitive and annoying. Garrett provides far more balanced input IMHO.

Always liked Gary as a colour guy....Harnarayan is so much better than John Bartlett though........
Bartlett shouldn't be the number 2 guy behind Cuthbert...

Singer, Garrett , and Galley are all good,,,,,,,Bartlett in the weak link................His voice does not suit the intensity of hockey......Not saying this to make fun of him but he should be narrating children's books or movies.......

That’s okay. Everyone likes some analysts more than others. But I’ve never found him to be biased.
I think it’s hilarious to read from Jests fans that he’s biased towards Montreal because all Hab fans can do is scream that he hates the Canadiens….
He’s a pretty middle of the road commentator. Maybe people are just used to their home team announcers actively cheering for them.

Dude imagine you are watching the Habs play and he's talking about what the Capitals keys to victory are. How the Canadiens haven't seen the best of the Caps yet. How the Caps are playing really good, and what they need to do to beat the Canadiens. I watched that series no one can tell me Galley was rooting for Washington, because he wasn't.
Other than complimenting Josh Morrissey on the ankle breaker he put on Blackwell you would have thought Galley was the home colour commentator for the Stars.
Now we have the worst homer color commentator during the season on TSN, but Habs fans who think Galley hates them aren't watching our games.
God forbid a color commentator is unbiased. The horror. lol

Did you watch the games or are just chiming in to say that Montreal has announcer who talks about their team, but doesn't like the Canadiens? I don't remember him strategizing the Capitals attack in that series. I'm sorry but I watched it.
Watched all Habs playoff games and Jets playoff games. Don't see what the issue is. That said, i don't expect my commentators to blatant homers....
I like when commentators break down the opposition's game plan or keys to winning. Its a lot better than breaking down the Habs keys which i already know.

I don't want a homer either. John Garrett wasn't a homer.
I don't want to listen to the announcer talk about the American team all game either on a Canadian channel. Which you clearly missed if you watched the game.
If you can't actually hear Galley talking about the Stars non stop you've tuned him out, which is a credit to you.
I watch the game and don't really care what announcers say. If it bothers you, turn the volume off. Or watch a Leafs game, then you will be immune to homerism.

Yeah he's been with the Habs for years (Sat night HNIC games)........In the end different people have different taste in things......See… I always liked Bartlett.

No, and that's why it's so weird.
He played for Ottawa in Junior, so you would expect some degree of affection but it's actually more like utter contempt for the organization and its players.

Saw him call my share of Ottawa games over the years and never felt that way to be honest.......Different people have different interpretations and opinions of things though........

You go ask the Ottawa board who their least favorite colour guy is and he'll win by a landslide.
Simpson is another but I think Galley is worse.
